Questions & Answers

Everyone who left a comment said they used this section on a 5 or higher. Will a 7-liter engine fit in a 4-liter vehicle? 3 L Blazer from 1998?

Mine came from a GMC Safari with four wheels. 3L. Since the fourth, 3 is a 5. I believe the pumps are identical because they have two cylinders cut off. To make the belt removal process easier, loosen the fan attachment nut first.

Hello everyone, I've got a stock Chevy 350 (5. Is this going to fit in a 7L container? When it comes to entering your vehicle information, Amazon is a little hazy. ?

It was a perfect fit for my K1500 Chevy Suburban from 1997. Vortec engine with a displacement of 7 liters.

What's the difference between this and the much more expensive GM OE version, which you can also find on Amazon?

There are three high-quality lines from Ac Delco. Advantage (good) OEM (best) professional (better) OEM (best) OEM (best) OEM (best) OEM OEM (best) OEM (best This is AC Delco's Professional line, which means it's of lower quality than OEM parts in order to compete with parts from parts stores. If you have your water pump replaced at a dealer, you will be offered this Professional line of pump as an option to save money on repair costs. My first GM water pump lasted for 19 years and 225,000 miles. The black paint and assembly marks were still visible on the pump. This Professional pump performs admirably, but it develops surface rust within a month, which is merely a cosmetic issue given that it is not painted; however, the pump's lifespan is likely to be in the 70,000 mile range. Because this pump is made in the United States and the others are made in China, I would recommend it over NAPA/autozone/oreilly/advance parts store pumps any day.

Is the impeller made of metal or plastic?

not sure. It has never been opened. However, it is not a genuine Acdelco water pump; it looks exactly like many other less expensive water pumps.

Water Pump for the 1998 Chevrolet C1500 4
5/5

Original OEM Water Pump for the 1998 Chevrolet C1500 This water pump cost a third of what it would have cost in a retail auto store. I put it in a 1998 Chevrolet C1500 with a 4 cylinder engine. Despite other reviews, the product I received was a verified OEM AC Delco water pump for my 3l engine, and it fit perfectly. The AC Delco box it came in and the stamping on the water pump are both indicators. It included all of the necessary gaskets. No RTV sealant is required for the gaskets provided. Anyone with a basic understanding of mechanics should have no trouble installing it. The only issue I ran into during the installation was loosening the fan. For extra space, I removed the radiator shroud, as well as the alternator, for easier access to the hoses. By weaving a metal hangar through two holes in the pulley and wrapping it around the alternator bracket, I was able to get the fan off. I then used a crescent wrench and a rubber mallet to smash it open. The ratchet strap method didn't work for me because it kept slipping around the pulleys. The hangar through the pulley holes was extremely simple and did not endanger other pulley system components. Overall, it was a relatively simple process that saved me a substantial amount of money. A local mechanic estimated the cost of repair at $375.

Simple to swap out
5/5

It'll be nice if it lasts as long as the original. On my 1999 Express, I had to replace the water pump. I took it apart so I wouldn't have to deal with the fan clutch bolt, and I took it to a local shop for $10 to loosen it. If you want to take it apart in its entirety, you'll need to remove the radiator to make room. If you don't have one, you'll need to rent one from AutoZone or hammer it loose with a big ass crescent or monkey wrench. The water pump bolts are 15mm in diameter. There are a total of four. There are two on each side (an extension is required)br>and the pulley is 10mm in diameter. Make sure the old gasket is completely removed from the engine block before installing the new one. In order to access the hoses that fit on top of the pump, you may need to remove the idler pulley. The bolt is 13mm in diameter. This is just a quick overview; there are dozens of videos on YouTube that go over the removal and replacement of a 5. 7 vortec.

For parts with a high risk of failure, stick with factory/Delco
5/5

To begin, let me state that I am well-known for being frugal, despite the fact that this is a case of confusing two completely different terms. But seriously, I am a frugal person who appreciates good value, and that is the secret to my success. I am willing to pay for value, and in this case, I believe that factory original designed and tested parts are preferable to aftermarket or rebuilt parts when the consequences of failure could be disastrous, even if the price difference is significant. In the case of this water pump, this is the case. I had a fuel injector leak on my 2000 GMC Jimmy SLT 4x4 (verify, but similar years Jimmy and Chevy Blazers), so I decided to replace the lower intake gaskets and water pump while I was at it. This truck only has 70k miles on it, and the original water pump is still on it, so it's already had 70k miles of trouble-free service from the factory part; it'll probably get another 70k, but it's worth the money as insurance and a soft time saver to replace it while I'm in there. br>If you need any more convincing, I own 15 vehicles and do all of my own work. Take it from a frugal person, this is one of those parts you don't want to skimp on and end up stranded, having to redo all of the work to replace it with the Delco the second time, or worse, crack a head or a block when the reman goes out and you turn on the heater to make it that extra mile to the gas station before pulling over.

Fits perfectly in a 1999 Tahoe - However - This part was a perfect match for my 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
4/5

It was essentially a plug-and-play setup. br>br>The problem is that I needed to buy two. Due to a bad serpentine belt, the first one cracked in half off the engine block. br>br>** note ** It did not come dismounted, it cracked in halfbr>br>Needless to say, I bought a second one because it looked well made. br>br> br>br>I'm pleased to report that the second pump is in good working order and shows no signs of leakage or cracks. It's a dirt cheap pump with decent quality. br>br> Just remember that my first one split in half (I have proof), but the second one appears to be holding up well. 4/5 stars br>br>.

Pump is fantastic! Do not be fooled; this is the same $ 100 pump that ACDelco sells; all it took was some primer and paint to get it installed! If you're going to the trouble of replacing a water pump, it's a good idea to flush your coolant system a few times with the old pump first to get the crud out of your block! The OEM Belt Fan and Clutch were a perfect match! br>br>Like working on any GM, installation is a breeze
5/5

Replace your Thermostat while you're at it, it'll only take a few minutes more of your time!br>br>This happened when I decided to upgrade/replace my Radiator with a Triple Core on my 01 Bravada, and it's been working flawlessly so far!.

Installed on a Chevy S10 ZR2 pickup from the year 2000
5/5

I don't listen to DIY reviews on part quality or nitpicking because I only use ACdelco parts on my GM vehicles, so I don't listen to them. My previous water pump was a factory GM model that lasted 225,000 miles before the impeller began to leak profusely from the weep hole. Because the ACDelco "professional" line of parts is of lower quality, this is technically not an "oem quality replacement. " It is, however, the same as what you would receive from a dealer. ACdelco offers a variety of quality lines, ranging from Professional to Advantage to OEM. I don't think I'll get 225,000 miles out of it because it's $140 cheaper than the OEM version, but it should last a long time. So far, so good. It also includes the necessary gaskets.
