My experience with Gates products spans decades, and I have never had a failure. Currently, I am still using this cap and have had no issues. I have other caps that last for about 5 years, but I do replace them when they reach the end of their lifespan, about 4 - 5 years. The last five years have been the most productive.
The answer is yes. Nevertheless, I bought it and the heat almost melted the cheap rubber seal that was on it. I like the red lever that lets me release pressure. In the event you have a problem with either the water pump or the thermostat, flipping you lever up will relieve pressure or enable you to do a spot check (with a rag or heavy gloves). There are toads. We're done.

In a lot of cases, if the coolant level is going down in the radiator but not in the overflow reservoir, it may be As the coolant cools, the cap not only has to seal and hold pressure, but it also has a vacuum valve that allows for the coolant to be returned to the radiator. In this scenario, the lower spring-loaded seal holds pressure to raise the boiling point of the coolant, but it is the upper seal and vacuum valve that allow coolant to flow into radiators as they cool or after air pockets are burped. The reason why bad radiator caps are sometimes diagnosed as bad head gaskets is that unscrupulous mechanics can detect them as bad.
A better quality control system is needed. It's my belief that the first thing you should do if you have a radiator or coolant problem is to replace the cap immediately. Most of the time it's the cap or the cap is damaged and causes other issues such as overheating or a failure to maintain pressure in the system. It's the first time a radiator cap has ever failed me right That kind of threw me for a loop. How did I make a mistake? There is nothing. If you have a problem, sometimes the SECOND radiator cap appears to be the cause. After getting the cap damaged at the auto parts store, I ran back and got a new one. In spite of being a "Prime add-on deal," the price came out the same as this one. Amazon just does not have a strong suit in some areas. This kind of stuff. Even though Amazon packed it very nicely in the shipping container, the cap itself was rattling around in the Gates box as it was loose in the Cap box. I am not sure if shipping caused this to fail as it was loose in the Cap box. Is it possible that it As far as I know, this is the last radiator cap I will purchase from Amazon. The next time I buy them, I will buy.
It's no secret that Gates makes excellent radiator hoses and belts. I also think they make a very good radiator cap that's A few others made in Mexico also rattled my cage, but none of them was a matter of gripe. I hate you. My old cap had a leak, and I fixed it. I was able to receive my package fairly quickly. Neither I nor my client have any The situation has so far been positive. If any other changes are made, I will update as soon as possible.
I cleaned and flushed the system, and this cap fixed the problem.
When it comes to generic types of auto parts, you can't find a company more reliable for a variety of products and applications than this one. Various types of gas caps and radiator caps, plugs, etc.
I will say it once more. The 4 tabs were ordered instead of the 2 and I received it today. The picture is the same as the actual thing. My problem is that I need it. What was sent to me cannot be used. Please send me another pic of that item and quit showing me that one.
The radiator cap is definitely an item that fits on the radiator, but it isn't working properly. The radiator transfers heat and coolant efficiently, but when you fire it up, it rattles like a rattle snake.
My 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 has a new radiator with this sticker on it. I love the fit and the way it works!.
