Questions & Answers

When I purchase a flex fuel vehicle, does it matter if it is a srx?

Flexible fuel caps are usually different from regular fuel caps.

What is the key to this?

A key is not necessary for this machine. My vehicle had an original equipment part damaged or lost. This is a replacement part.

There isn't much to rave about a gas cap because they can go bad even though they look fine
5/5

Everything went well and I'm happy with how everything turned out. I received the order on time and it was well packaged. 4) and installed in less than three minutes (had to pry out the old leash anchor that broke off). The reason I bought it was because my car was throwing the P0449 "evap leak" code. Even after I replaced the faulty evap solenoid and made sure the gas cap was tight, I still got the "large leak detected" code. In doing some trial and error and watching some youtube videos, I realized that a gas cap does a lot more than just cover the gas hole (haha sorry, I will It's not only important that the cap "locks" (i. e. Clicking) it must also I didn't see it that way. However, I decided to order a new OEM one since they come in under $16 regardless of whether it had been tested. There is a statement right on the cap stating that if you don't give it the final click past tight, the check engine light might When I changed the old cap for this one, gave it the one click, and the old cap fell off. Having trouble codes or checking the engine light is no longer necessary. It may be worthwhile to replace your gas cap even if the P0449 code is showing up despite your gas cap being tight. It is not going to lie, I consider myself pretty handy under the hood, but I hadn't realized that gas caps can go bad even if they appear to be fine. This is a cheap way to make sure the cap isn't leaking. This purchase was very satisfying for me!.

The 2014 Chevy Impala is compatible with this part
5/5

For my 2014 Chevy Impala, this is the perfect fit. I love how easy it is to install and how well it seals. It appears that the "tighten gas cap" error message that was associated with my old gas cap is no longer displayed. There are no visible indications that it is not a direct OEM replacement and that it is of poor.

On-board computer displays the Check Engine light
3/5

As it said it would fit, I picked this one for a new gas cap. In the end, I ended up spending more money on a replacement purge valve, but still got a Turned out that the gas cap on the tank does not seal correctly and it was necessary to buy another one from a local gas station. The return threshold has been exceeded, so this unit cannot be returned.

This is a good cap
5/5

I bought this cap for my 2011 Traverse. There was a lot of confusion on the internet about choosing the right cap for my vehicle. There are some vehicles that changed their cap design in the middle of the Most internet information guides people to the wrong style cap by asking that they go by attachment style, such as the round push pin or the T It's a bad piece of Do not worry about the attachment of the cap, you only need to check whether your current cap is screwed on or a quarter turn twist lock. There is a screw at the top of the cap. The replacement used a push pin instead of a T attachment that fit in the square hole under the filler hole. An attachment hole was drilled into the bracket of the fuel door so this push pin style attachment could be attached.

A perfect fit for the 2012 Cadillac CTS-V This luxury is 4 out of 4
5/5

The Cadillac CTS I recently purchased is a 2012. I learned, while filling up, that the gas cap was an aftermarket product that did not seem to seal well. A second problem is that the cable attaching the cap to the door is not shaped properly and just binds. It can be an issue when the gas cap does not fit properly (e. g. As this cap might trigger the check engine light), I ordered a replacement. In terms of shape (does not bind) and sealing, it is an OEM part so it performs exactly as one would expect.

My check engine light comes on due to this problem
3/5

Whenever I put on this cap, the check engine light comes on. After I removed the old light, I had to reinstall it so that the light would Old ones have a broken strap that keeps the cap from dangling to prevent it from falling off while you pump gas. The reason I bought it was because of that. I have experienced the same thing, every time I put the new one back on, I will be fine for about a quarter tank of gas before The check engine light goes out when I replace it with the old one. As soon as the check engine light came on, I asked the auto store to check the codes. There was a code that said to check the gas cap and indicated an evap system. The old one went on and the light went out.

Look elsewhere if you're looking for a long-term storage solution
3/5

In the few days following the close of the return window, I began receiving warning messages requesting that I tighten the gas cap. I have owned my (GMC Acadia) for 8 years and never had the urge to tighten it. This is the first time I have seen it! The world seems so strange to me. Currently, I'm not sure what's going on. I was not able to get a replacement from the manufacturer. I'm stuck up here unless my car dies (I'm kidding! It might be) or.

The vehicle I was driving failed
3/5

As I researched the item before making a purchase, I decided on this item since it had a retention strap and the fit chart indicated it would work with my We could not get it to However, the cap did not seal the tank despite the strap working fine and the cap threading in. An important part of maintaining the tank is sealing it. During the course of a driving trip, my wife's engine light came on, and Onstar informed her that she needed to check her gas cap because there was an evaporative emission problem. In addition to reseting the error code several times, I made a valid attempt to get the cap to I tried everything I could think of, but it did not seal. end, I had to break the new cap's retention strap to remove it, and I had to install the old OEM strap-less My main reason for purchasing this phone cap was that the retention strap on the OEM cap had broken, but other than that it was working fine. Believe it or not, I find it very frustrating to be without the retention strap. I usually buy from Amazon without any issues, but this time there wasn't any satisfaction, so I realize I can't always rely on the aftermarket.
