Questions & Answers

What is the fit for a Crosstrek 2018?

The J501SFL400 would be used on the 2018 Crosstrek.

Do the seat backs have to be covered by this. Would this extend to an Impreza's cargo area or the back cargo of a Crosstrek?

Seat backs are the only part of it that is covered.

The new 2017 model is unlikely to be compatible with it
4/5

There were some design changes for the 2017s.

Adjustments are necessary to get it to fit perfectly
4/5

I modified it slightly for my 2015 Crosstrek and it works perfectly. It is necessary to cut two small holes in the cloth on the back seats in order to attach these seat back protectors. In some cases, the holes may be as small as half an inch, just enough for the new plastic pins to be inserted when the old ones are removed. With the covers on and the pins in place, you are not able to see the holes, and if for some reason you wanted to take the covers off, you could just put the pins back in to seal the holes up.

I love the way it fits my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek! The product is For your back seats, the item is made in one piece
4/5

This cargo tray is also made of the same material as the OEM However, I would like to make it clear that though the picture shows a cargo tray, the product DOES NOT INCLUDE ONE It is advised not to cut anything, even though the item is slightly attached at the bottom. In addition, back seat headrests are also surrounded by elastic bands that provide Besides having velcro pieces on the back of the product, it also sticks to the felt surfaces of your rear seats. Install the following If you follow the YouTube video directions, you can easily install the software. A total of 6 replacement push pins came in the packaging and installation took about 10 minutes. One thing it did not include was a tool for prying off the push pins, however using a nail worked just as well (you can also use a flat screwdriver for this). Since my existing rear seats were already holey, I only used 4 push pins instead of the other 2 - you would need to create 2 small holes for the other 2 push pins In spite of not having much wiggle room, the elastic bands and 4 push pins were sufficient to keep the seat back protector firmly in place. Put the bottom part of the product into your trunk by sliding it under the floor. As soon as you adjust the seats up, the bottom of this product is accordion-style, so it can be folded up when upright. * * *PACKAGING This item came packaged in a plastic bag and was packaged inside a non-resealable bag As a whole The words *br The product is especially useful if your rear seats often need to be lowered to load/unload cargo and if you have pets *-- As a standard feature on the Crosstrek Limited, Subaru should have included this in the option list.

It would be nice if the retainer clips could be included
4/5

I found this to fit my 2017 Crosstrek perfectly and was very satisfied with how well it performed. The only thing that is not right is the fact that it doesn't include new plastic retainer clips to replace the ones you have to pop out I found that my 2017 Subaru Crosstrek had two retainer clips on each seat, so a total of four. Normal carpets have these which help hold them in place. They need to be pulled out and then reinserted over the holes of the back protector in order to keep them One issue with these clips is that, once you remove them, the plastic on them is damaged. Once you've removed them once and popped them back in again, they still fit a little loose. It would be nice if these included new retainer clips to replace the old ones. The three dots are not included in mine. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be included and my copy was missing or if it simply doesn't. Replacing retainer clips can be purchased, but I was unable to locate any that came in packs of 25 (down from the four I needed) or that were not too expensive considering it is just a small plastic piece. Even though the old ones work fine, the new ones should be included as well.

I am very impressed by how easy it is I watched a couple of YouTube videos to figure out how to install
4/5

Looks nice. I took 10 minutes to complete the task. With needle nose pliers, I removed the plastic buttons from under the hat. Over each latch there's a hidden one under a pocket. This is where you must punch a hole through the fabric with a Phillips screwdriver once it has been removed. Once you have the replacement buttons installed, all you need to do is snap them in. Despite being pictured as part of the product, these attach to the bottom tray (not included). If they aren't hooked under the mat, they would fold accordion-style. I could see people having trouble with them folding up properly if they don't do so. They might also fold them downwards if they expect them to do so. Despite the fact that they're mostly invisible under the headrest, I knocked off one star because the bungee cord solution at the top isn't my favorite. It may be necessary to invest in a beefier Velcro along the top edge to keep it firmly This will be great for the back seat when I throw my snowboard or bike in and I don't need to worry about gouging the seat back. The covers could have been removable for cleaning, but that wouldn't have been practical.

I found the installation to be very easy, and way cheaper than any Subaru dealer could provide
5/5

The 2017 Subaru Crosstrek is perfect for me. In short, there is a reason why they get a 4 star rating rather then a 5 star. Installation instructions told me to use two tools, one was a screw driver thing, and the other was a tool I'd never seen before. It was for pulling the plugs out so I could put the plastic back on, and I used my fingers to do that. To make holes in the carpet, you needed to use a screwdriver. It is not me who did that. The backing has Velcro and 4 holes for support.
