Questions & Answers

Therefore, I am an artist who resins his works of art. This could technically be a spray can of resin or epoxy? Is it possible to use this on my artwork?

Yes, it is working properly. As well as painting (abstracts), I work with 2 part resins. In terms of quality and durability, spray Max is also very good. One disadvantage is that once the internal can within the main can is punctured, you are only able to use it for about 48 hours. Then you need to make sure you have a few paintings ready to go and coat them all at once. Do not forget to purchase a respirator as well. For less than $20 you can get them from Harbor Freight. After using them for a while, you can just throw them away and buy a new one in the future. Vapors in the Max 2 part spray can be inhaled and are not healthy for the lungs. If you are inside, it is good, but if you are outside it is not good, unless you have a respirator on.

Have you tried covering Duplicolor lacquer spray paint with this? Have you ever applied the Duplicolor base coat? How long did you wait after that?

It is true. It is very efficient. A 15 minute time interval after application

Is there a time limit on when I can sand and polish after applying this?

I know this sounds strange, but put your nose up to the paint so you can smell the urathean paint while it is You need to wet sand and buff about 3-4% of the surface, depending on how many coats you do and what drying conditions you are in. I followed this up 4 days later. A motorcycle tank was used for that mission. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

What can I use this with a chrome grille coated in high gloss plastidip?

I have no idea how Chrome works. First, I would use Adhesion Spray to coat the chrome grill and then I would plastidip it. At the end, apply this Spray Max to ensure a firm adhesion and to ensure that the plastidip is firmly adhered.

Let's set the record straight on usage - this stuff is awesome, but never make the mistake of ambiguous usage
5/5

Put a lot of effort into it. A lot of people who do their own car work can't afford to spend $2000 on two bumpers painted, so this product is wonderful. Here's what we need to say to those who have written To address this issue, you should first look at your own mistakes, since that is where the majority of the issues come from. As far as I'm concerned, yes. In that case, let me clear things up or explain why (some) people aren't getting the results they expected. No sheen, it's matte as opposed to shiny There was an error with the user. Once you have correctly prepared your surface (which is a big task in itself), there are two things you need to do. If you are spraying it on wet, make sure the surface is Unlike primer or base coats which you DUST the first coat, this is NOT a primer. You will lay down a dull layer if you do so. Use a wet sprinkling method and spray 50% overlap and hand distance away (roughly I can see you dusting from too far away. You don't have to OVERDO it just by being brave. It does not The answer is yes. If you believe you can wet sand and polish the next day, then you should try that method instead. There is no way. Before you can even start the car, you should let it harden for at least 24 hours. The second thing you should do is not touch, sand or play with it for seven to ten Unlike acrylic clearcoat, which is $500 per can for an autobody shop, this is not professional grade. I am the proud owner of a 2008 Mustang GT California Special (see attached pictures). Please be patient and do not wax or dress until after the sanding and polishing phase

I am attaching some pictures of my baby along the way. My primer was their 2K Primer, my base coat was Scratch Wizard Ford HP White and spray may was my clear coat. Each coat should be applied three times. You might not be able to tell in the pictures that I did it fresh (where no sanding/polishing was done), but you get amazing results when you do it the right way.

This is a great tool for DIY projects

It has been said that clear coat chipping cannot be repaired. As it turns out, the right preparation can make a tremendous difference. I am not saying it will look showroom-worthy, but it will be The video on how to do it can be found on YouTube, under 'ratchets and wrenches'. To be sure, I watched it several times as well as one from an auto body shop.
Preparation for this part If you want to avoid leaving a film on your car, use Dawn dishwashing detergent. With 1500 grit sandpaper, wet sand the section. You need to make sure the material is Using a soft cloth, ensure that you get all the edges of all chipped clearcoat. Make sure the unblemished clear coat isn't chipped so the spray will adhere to it. Rough up the unblemished clear coat by using an auto body scotch pad. To prevent lint, wash and dry the car with a microfiber cloth. Then use alcohol or Windex to clean the surface again. Use blue shop towels to wipe over surface to be greased. Those who clean the floors pick up different types of surface dirt, and then they go over it again with rack towels. During use of the spray, you should tape off any areas where there is no need to use the spray, such as windows, tires, ECT. Make sure you have a respirator handy! It contains organics (one of each). Buying a new set of lungs for $20 is not a good idea. Make sure you wear gloves that are vinyl or similar. Mix hardner in bottom of can by popping the red disc in at bottom. Shake can for 2 minutes and then put red disc in at bottom of can. Spray after shaking for a further two minutes. Depending upon the temperature in the sun, or the amount of hot water in the water, I could achieve better results by using the can first warmed in hot water or sun. It is highly recommended to read these reviews and watch the utube video for best results. My car came out great and I am happy with it.

How can there be no My disappointment is great! It may seem absurd that this type of quality can be found in a 3 dollar can of krylon, but I don't recall ever having krylon drip or spew chunks of crap like this
3/5

Yes, I followed all the instructions exactly to the letter. As for my painting experience, I have many years. Obviously, the bottom of the can was not the source of the sound. The can dripped all over the place and sprayed some kind of dry dust on my hood, completely ruining my hard work! When I cleared a hood, I watched it spray some kind of dry mud all over! The following changes are made to Edit 8 In addition to having been repaired, sanded, and buff, the clear coat looks pretty good, but now it's turned milky white after two to three years. It's really just a minor inconvenience for me to do it all over again.

Depending on the factors involved, can't necessarily follow directions on can
5/5

The mistakes I made will hopefully be learned from by other newbies like me. Let's start with the pros You don't have to polish or compound it since it comes out great if done correctly
Nice glossy sheen, no polishing or compounding necessary

Cons You may find that the instructions on the can do not apply to your specific conditions (explained below)
This may require a small learning curve
When the can gets low (but still feels like it has product), it might spit dry. In order to spray effectively, the directions on the can suggest that the ideal spray temperature is around 68oF, with a humidity of 50% or less. After the warning, it says to keep a distance of about 10 inches and go slowly. In the case where you are not spraying in 68 degrees, this rule does not apply, and if it's warmer, you might need to be close to the area and spray rapidly. This was a truly WRONG thing to do. My garage was 80 degrees and “staying 10” back and going slow" was the exact wrong There was a "dry-up" as a result The paint starts to atomize, so it does not deposit into a solid droplet and does not dry into a solid sheet, but rather As a result, the orange peel is extreme and the finish is matte rather than glossy. I woke up 9 hours later and I was soaked It caused some burns to the clear flat when you sanded it This allowed the color paint to seep into it, which then needed to be retouched. In order to ensure I cleared the panel again in the morning when temperatures were 69F inside, I did so early in the morning. The paint is fluid at that temperature, so it goes on like a nice, solid sheet, but then runs and sags after a few seconds, because now I am either too close or spraying too slowly for the temperature I was spraying at! Please keep reading. After 9 hours, it rained Finished sanding runs and sags until the panel was flat once Finally I came up with a solution. The following day, it was hot, so I cleared it in the afternoon, but it got close. The size ranges from 4" to 6" This was a perfect match for the factory finish without any mess afterwards.

In other words, the thermal effect will determine how close you are and how fast you move. The obvious conclusion is "duh!". The instructions on the can may be fine for experienced painters, but newbies are usually guided by the instructions. It would have been more helpful if the can had stated, "If it is not 68 degrees and much warmer, you will have to move in closer and go faster. ".

I also read on many sites that it is a good idea to do an initial "tack coat" (like is recommended for A feathered clear coat cannot be applied, nor can a thin tack coat be applied. If you eat too many oranges, you will become very peely. To make the paint adhere properly, it has to be applied in a solid sheet, where all drops combine or pool together. There are different ways each drop of liquid will reflect the light resulting in that orange peel texture with a The best way to create a high gloss surface is to use a solid sheet that reflects light evenly. I wish there were fewer annoyances Maybe it was just me, but I found that when the cans still had product but were low (maybe 1/4 full) I'd be applying a second or third coat when the can would shoot out a little paint for a split second and spit it out- My previously perfect panel was sprayed all over with spray paint I would have to wait 8 minutes to get wet, which I would not enjoy It needs to be sanded flat and a new coat applied. As soon as that happened twice, I stopped using cans once they seemed to be about two-thirds empty. In one case I was clearing a fender panel, in another a bumper. A quick spritz of the repair area would probably be okay, but in both cases I was clearing large areas. In any case, this is something to keep in mind. As a result of making mistakes in all the ways possible, and having to go back and fix them Redo the job and see if it works The paints I have purchased multiple times (not to mention the base when I burnt through sanding the clear before I got the hang of it) are great once you have the hang of it in your particular conditions. It may even work for you if you use it right out of the box. The first time you use it, though, you may need to practice. It is recommended to use a larger brush if painting a large area such as a panel rather than a small area such as The following is a tip I read that proved helpful to A can of activated food has a shelf life of about 48 hours after being opened. There is probably less heat in the summer. You could put the left-hand side first, then the right-hand side If you put the paint can in the fridge, it will last a good long time (months, according to reports). The can that was half gone in my refrigerator was put in the fridge and I A week later, when the new clear arrived, I used the can out of the fridge by letting it warm up in the garage for a couple hours. A couple minutes later, I shook it up again and it was as good as freshly activated. This is not the paint can that spits. to avoid using any cans once.
