Questions & Answers

There is no paint that sticks well to metal without primer that I have seen. A primer is included in this ?

Since there is no primer in the paint or the kit, you do not need one as long as your metal is clean before painting. With a metal cleaner and a wire brush, I was able to get great results. I've painted the brake calipers over a year ago and they haven't flaked or faded in the slightest. After applying the clear coat, I applied a second

According to some articles, some people are using VHT Caliper Clear Coat on their G2 kits. Do you think that it is necessary?

After being painted for two years as of July 2015, mine have no chips or cracks. Just make sure to clean the crap out of them before painting them, and try to apply multiple coats, My memory is that I painted the entire caliper with two coats and the exterior, which you can see from the road, with an additional coat.

The color of the room looks like lime green, but is it more of a standard green? It’s dragon green and bright on my car, and I’m trying to match it with yours. ?

The color is more of a lime green. The company is not recommended by me, however. The entire paint collection ended up getting thrown away. The company did not return my call when I tried to contact them. I couldn't get the paint to stick.

Do you agree with your reviewer that it does not come with the package?

My order for this product was delivered on 3 This was issued in 2014 and it took a week to arrive. There are many tools in the kit that help you carry out This epoxy paint comes in two parts, so make sure your four caps are ready to paint before starting the mix. I like the brush that is provided with the kit. It looks a little thin on the first coat. Don't put too much on first. Wait for the second coat to dry and you'll see a dramatic difference. Despite not having enough paint left over to cover three coats, I managed to cover three coats. With this product, I was able to apply it to a dodge dart 2014 with no problems. The third coat finished the product and it looked like a powder coat from a factory. I have been driving it daily for two months and it is still in like new condition with no chips or color wear.

Compared to my old calipers, this product has improved my calipers greatly
5/5

A lot of people like to mod their vehicles. I don't. My car is also not particularly handy when it comes to mechanics, so the idea of doing anything that involves the brakes scared me a lot. To get comfortable with the process and make sure I knew what I was doing, I watched a lot of videos on how to paint calipers. Aside from spray paint and hand painting, I also looked into various alternatives (e. g. Brush painting) as well as reading product reviews. As it turned out, G2 seemed to be the best fit for me, and I am glad I made the right choice. While temperatures ranged from the high 50's to the low 60's during a stretch of days in mid-January, I decided to paint the calipers on my new Audi A6. As recommended by the manufacturer, you should only use the paint between 56 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. that I was in the ideal temperature range, I had no problem diving Considering my car was brand new (2017), I did not need to take a significant amount of time to clean it's calipers since they were already tidy when I got it. While tape and masking off the parts of the wheel that should not be painted occurred, I focused more on the areas that should not As well as these brushes, I also bought enamel paint brushes. There was information on the internet that said the brush that comes with the kit sheds. Although I was unaware of it, I used my brushes anyway since I had never given it a chance. Using four coats of paint, I was able to fully paint Initially, I had a light coat, and it required a lot of time and effort. A final coat of smooth paint gave it a final As the black of the desk matches the black of the chair- I wanted my A6 to have an outward look. As for applying the paint, it was no problem at all for me. Although I was able to fix the drips when I loaded too much paint on the brush, there were periods when I loaded too much paint on the brush. During the waiting period, I wore two coats at least one after another. I bought two kits in all honesty. I was unable to put my vehicle up on four jack stands, so I had to raise a wheel at a time. To paint a caliper, I would let it sit for 2 hours, then put the wheel on and go to the next. It has been reported that people have cut paint and hardening agents in half so they can save them did not want to do that, as I feared I would not have enough hardener to paint with, which would cause the paint to deteriorate. Following the completion of all four wheels, I waited two days for them to dry. I decided to cook it longer than the recommended 24 hours because the temperature in my garage dropped several degrees at night, so I needed more curing time. Once cured, I took the wheels off again and applied high-temperature grease. To complete the look, heat transfer stickers were applied to the calipers. Having used this product, I am extremely satisfied with the results and highly recommend it It will take time to clean, prep, and paint, so please devote ample time to this process.

It just took me a few minutes to do the You don't need to do anything special to cover well, just follow the directions If you don't want paint in certain areas, mask them off with plastic
4/5

Painter's mask tape does the job just fine. Make sure the calipers are clean, that the chemicals are mixed, and that the cans are very clean. Three coats of paint are needed to achieve a good finish. You don't have to worry about the first coat looking bad. It is essential to let it dry at least 15 minutes between coats otherwise brush marks will appear. Make sure to use the brush that came with the kit and do not use the crap brush supplied. It cost me $3 to get a small brush kit at Home Depot. We were able to find 50 solutions that worked Plan accordingly since these only need to be done within a certain window of time once the reactor is mixed in with paint! My calipers were finished off with white Brembo stickers, and I think they look good.

It is by far the best brake caliper paint system on the market
5/5

It ended up being better to use this product over an aerosol-based caliper paint solution in the end. Although the included paint brush is of poor quality and you have to mix the paint constantly as you're applying it and apply the paint sparingly and with patience to get a good clean finish out of your paint job, the brush is still an excellent purchase overall. It is very easy to overcome all of these obstacles. As an example, the brush with poor quality bristles loses some of its bristles almost right away. Most of the loose bristles will come out almost immediately if you tug on the end of the bristles and play with it while you paint. You can avoid getting a bristle loose and stuck on the paint by doing this during the painting process. There is no need for a primer since this product doesn't need it. But don't let that fool you it still needs to appear right and stick well. Clean the caliper thoroughly and remove any previous paint or finish if you want it to look right and stick well. In addition, I think that the fact that this paint requires activation makes it stronger and more durable. However, you need to constantly be mixing it while you're painting, not just after adding the activator to the paint at the beginning. You will want to wet sand and polish the paint if you're interested in a brilliant shine later and keeping it from coagulating. This is not necessary except when you wish to wet sand and polish it.

Use this kit to complete the job since it includes all of the necessary parts. You will need enough paint to coat 4 calipers at least three times Mixing the paint is easy since it comes in a container large enough to prevent spills or even the risk of spills. It is important that the paint is only ready for application once you are ready to do it. Not for profit Before painting the brake calipers, use chlorine brake cleaner to aid in the cleaning process. It is possible to use this paint brush, but you will have to either get your own at Home Depot or Lowes or prepare this one as described You need a Popsicle stick to mix the ingredients. If you wish you can use the G2 decal included with instructions as well. Applicating this paint is straight-forward, possibly easier than a spray paint applied with an aerosol sprayer. Even so, you need to be very careful when using it and to apply it thinly in multiple coats to ensure that you do not get orange peel or run. This paint should end up being stronger than aerosol type paints and protecting against road grime and brake dust in general, as well as the environment. Due to the few weaknesses in this product, I rated it 5 stars. The product would definitely be purchased again and I highly recommend it.
