Questions & Answers
Please check to see if the handlebar is 7/8 inch wide. If you answered yes, you are correct.
It was on a 1982 KZ750 with dual front discs that I used it on. If you only have one front disc, I'd look for a master with a bore of 12mm.

Delivery was quick; can't beat Prime; product appears to be of good quality; unfortunately, it won't work for my application. This master cylinder is too small for a dual disc application, with a 14mm bore diameter. On my 1982 Kawasaki KZ750 LTD with dual front disc brakes, it simply does not move enough fluid to fully apply the front brakes. A larger, 16mm bore master cylinder had to be ordered.
Great deal, and I'm even considering paying more for it; sometimes a seemingly low-cost item can be of shocking quality, and this is one of them. I tested it on my 1981 Yamaha 750 Virago, which has a single disc front brake that feels fairly normal in terms of travel. I could see it failing on a dual disk or twin caliper bike, but overall I'm impressed. Furthermore, the shuttle and seals you see in the photo are not a completed project, but rather a spare.
The brakes appear to be mushy, but I'm not sure if they're any worse than stock, and for the price, I won't complain if they're a little mushy. They come to a halt, and there are no leaks.
Excellent craftsmanship. It only takes 5 minutes to put it on. It will firm up right away if you bleed at the caliper and then at the banjo bolt on your handle bars. Otherwise, you'll be bleeding indefinitely and the wound will remain spongy. There was no spare plunger kit included. Even without it, the experience was worthwhile.
Overall, it fits and functions well on my 1986 CB550, and it came with replacement parts for a minor rebuild. It took some time for the entire system to become pressurized, but that could have been due to my failure to properly install and build my brake system. It does not appear to leak, and it is less expensive than having my old cylinder rebuilt.
This master cylinder was purchased to replace the one that came with my 2011 Royal Enfield 500. It's a fantastic product that was simple to set up. It comes with a rebuild kit that you'll probably never use, but it's always good to have extras on hand. The reservoir was a little bigger than stock, and the lever was a little different, but other motorcycle enthusiasts didn't seem to notice.
Put this bad boy on an '84 Virago 1000 and you've got yourself a winner. I'm pretty sure I've developed a crush on you. There's also a rebuild kit included. Is this for real? One of the most cost-effective options available. I'm planning on returning. If you're working with 7/8" bars, this is the way to go. Just go ahead and do it. I'm serious. We could form a support group if they ever stop selling it.
This was a great little MC, but the brakeline outlet was in the wrong place, so I had to return it and order a new one.
