There must be a problem with the casting on this Kickstarter. Two things went wrong with the one I received. In order for the foot peg to lock on the shaft of the kickstarter, it could only rotate 45 degrees. took me grinding away at a portion of the shaft to allow the footpeg to swing out 90 degrees as required. There was also a problem with the threaded hole used with the bolt to lock the starter to the starter shaft For the bolt to be able to remain in place the shaft had to be drilled so that it did not slide past the shaft. I had to drill the hole a second time and then attach it with a bolt and nut. If I could have given just one star, I would have, but I'm glad I replaced my old kick starter with this one.
On our tour, the rotating spur smelled quite strongly of chemical rubber, so we were blown away by that smell. We left it outside to outgas, but even though we unwrapped it and removed the packaging, we are still smelling industrial rubber. It's still not safe to bring it inside. I keep going to check on it. We received it in an envelope along with a few other unrelated items, and even those items had to be left outside to dry.
On my 1974 K5 CT90, it fits perfectly and bolts on with no problem. Almost the same as before. It does not swivel a full 90 degrees, but it folds back nicely into a flat position when folded up. The new one has the same lever and cranking ability as the old In place of the OEM bolt of 10mm, the lower bolt measures 14mm. A 14mm wrench is included in the bike's basic toolkit, so there's no need to worry. The reviews I read led me to believe that the bolt would have to be modified, but I did not have ordered another one so that I have one as a backup.
MotoParty is one of my favorite sellers, and they contacted the manufacturer and offered me a refund after the kickstarter campaign. Their products are very good, and they take pride in what they do. Despite being a top seller for me, they continue to remain my favorite.
There was a problem with the pinch bolt's construction and it was In addition, the package already had some rust on it when I opened it. I can live with this for the moment.
I easily fitted the spline shaft, but in order to put your foot on the right foot peg, I had to put it into a vise and beat it straight. Copy of the original that is very, very bad.
I got the toy to run.
Does not Work.
