The upgrade process is easy, but there's a I would say that 5" is quite a distance away

It is very easy to upgrade. Even for occasional mechanical tinkerers this should be easier than following instructions. Since it doesn't come with instructions, getting the right parts in the right place takes a little thought. Only one problem remains, and that is I'm modifying it to end up about 3 inches instead of 5" as that is a little far out for me. I recommend that you go out 5". I have not modified the images in any way. While it may not be as flashy as the $200+ version, remember that chrome will not.
