CV Headlight Restoration is effective, looks great, and is simple to use
5/5

You can complete two sets with one kit! This is without a doubt the most cost-effective headlight restoration kit available. I had a friend who was starting a business in headlight restoration, and we tried some very expensive kits before finding this kit at Advanced Auto and trying it out. The difference adds ten years to your car's appearance. The yellowing has disappeared, and they now appear to be made entirely of glass. I'm glad I discovered this kit in the early 2000s, and I still use it when I need it. I actually cut the sandpaper in half and only use half of the clearcoat, which allows me to make two complete sets of headlights with one kit. That is simply unbeatable! I'll keep using this product as long as it's still available.

My BMW Z4 lens has just been messed up
3/5

Fortunately, I only used it on one side, and I'm going to a professional detail shop to rectify my $30 blunder.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR HEAD LIGHTS
5/5

I learned about it from my nephew, who had seen how well it worked on his truck. It's fantastic' I'm waiting for a break in the weather to finish my van, but I'm confident it'll be fantastic.

In comparison to most other kits, this one is excellent, and all kits, including this one, last about a year
5/5

I've used 3M kits, McGuires, Mothers, and others, and they all need to be redone after a year or so, especially if the vehicle is parked in the sun and exposed to the elements. br>Any kit will last longer if the car is kept in a garage and does not spend a lot of time in the sun. br>For three reasons, I like this kit.
1. It is simple to work with.
2. To remove hazy spots and oxidation, wetsanding is required.
3. It protects against UV rays. br>While the kit's wetsanding paper is adequate, I have 800, 1000, and 2000 grit wetsanding paper on hand for added support and a smoother finish. br>After that, I use compressed air to blow off the residue and water between steps and a spray bottle for my water for wet sanding. To remove the body, I use green auto body tape purchased from an auto parts store. br>I only restore Mercedes-Benz headlights, and this kit performs admirably. If someone does not like this kit, they simply need to improve their wetsanding process, which is the key to a better end result. br>If your wetsanding is done correctly, the final uv protectant will perform admirably. br>After cleaning the headlights with my spray bottle, I apply the final protectant, followed by a final blast of compressed air to dry them completely. br>After that, quickly swipe the uv wipe from bottom to top in a series of swipes next to each other. br>Repeat the process using a cardboard box flap to dry it. Apply the uv wipe again after the first coat has dried, or the first coat will be pulled off and the result will be a smudge. If you mess up a very small spot, a small smudge will appear blue'ish in color and will fan dry clear, and it won't be noticeable. br>My advice is to buy two kits in case you need more product, as well as extra wet sand paper, a spray bottle, compressed air for easier cleaning, and green auto body tape to protect your paint.

I'm unable to contact the business! I've bought this product twice, and the first time I used it, I had a lot of success, and if that was my only interaction with this company, I'd buy it again
3/5

However, I had another car for which I needed to clean the headlights, and the product did not work, and to make matters worse, I have attempted to contact the company three times without receiving a response. I tried their Facebook page and website twice. br>br>It was cold outside the second time I used this product; I worked in my garage, but the temperature was still around 35 degrees. I applied the first set of chemicals and everything went smoothly, but when it came time to use the chemicals in bag number two, I discovered that they congeal when it gets cold. The chemicals came out as a solid white mass that wouldn't work in the headlights. Anyway, I'm not sure if this is covered by the company's advertised "lifetime" warranty, but I do know that when I try to contact them, I get no response. I would have been satisfied if they had simply contacted me and informed me that my situation was not covered by their lifetime warranty. br>br>Unfortunately, this is not the case.

To get the job done correctly, you'll need high-quality materials
3/5

If it weren't for the unbelievable lifetime warranty claim, I would give this 5 stars. br>I went to the local auto parts store and discovered that all of the products require the sealer to be applied on a regular basis. br>br>This contains a sealer that resembles MinWax PolyAcrylic Sealer, as well as Acrylic floor wax. It does the job, but I wouldn't expect these products to last very long outside; the product is correct in that no petroleum-based polish or sealer should be used on a plastic lens. The sealer that comes with the package is most likely the best option for the job. br>br>The good news is that there is enough material to make at least two or three cars in this box. If you keep water dribbling over the headlight while sanding, the sand papers will not wear out or clog. I used the entire package of white final buffing compound, but I still have three of the four sealant packages. I have enough sealer for future recoats because it goes a long way.

Edited - No special equipment is required to achieve satisfactory results
3/5

Edit: The initial rating was a five-star rating. While the ease of use is undeniable, I ended up purchasing an entirely new set of headlight assemblies a few months later. The lenses began to cloud again, but this time due to the sealer rather than yellowing. Maybe I didn't apply enough sealer to finish the job, but the sanding marks started to show up after a few weeks. br>br>*****I bought this kit for the same price at a local auto parts store for use on my 10-year-old car. year- Silverado is an old pickup truck. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the package handled both headlights and running lights. br>br>The process starts with two layers of sandpaper to remove corrosion and residues (and, in my case, a little paint overspray from a repair job), then moves on to polishing paste to finish after sanding, and finally to a clearcoat filler to erase scratches and hazing. It was simple and all done by hand; the package suggested a time estimate of around 10 minutes per headlight, but I took a little extra time to ensure that I sanded thoroughly. They also don't factor in the cost of replacing the running lights in their estimate. br>br>The whole thing took a little over an hour, including cleanup and a quick "shine" test, and the lenses aren't quite as good as new - There's no way to do it with a kit - They're not quite there, but they're getting there. It is something I strongly suggest.
