Questions & Answers

What makes this M6 different from the red one (cleaner wax)?

According to what I've read, the Red/Maroon container is Lite Duty, while the 6 container is Medium Duty/Professional. I just bought two containers of the maroon at WalMart, but I'm returning them because I can get the 6 in 64oz for about the same price as four 16oz containers at WalMart, and I prefer the 6 because I believe it cleans and polishes better, and the Wax may stay on longer, but I'm not sure. I prefer the 6 simply because of the cleaner and polisher. I want to take good care of my truck's paint and appearance, but I also need to save time and energy, so this is the best two-step cleaner/polish/wax product I've found. Wesley's Auto Polish was something I used a long time ago, but it is no longer available. It's possible that Mequiar's purchased the rights to Wesley's Auto Polish, and the 6 is the same thing.

When using a rotary buffer, is the product low sling?

I use it in conjunction with an orbital buffer. I've never had a sling when I've used it correctly.

When using a da, what speed should you use?

On a PC 7424, I prefer to run at speed 4 or 5.

Is it possible to get rid of previous paste wax costs that were applied unevenly?

It's a cleaner wax with the goal of removing minor flaws. If you want to get rid of the old wax, pressure wash it twice and then clean it with a clay bar. Apply compound, polish, and wax after that. After that, use a sealant to finish the job. I hope this has been of assistance.

All you'll need is six
5/5

Since 1997, I've been a Meguiars fan. I used to go through the entire multi-step process when I was younger. Compound, polish, and wax are used in a three-step process. I made the mistake of thinking that because I had all black cars and SUVs, that was all I needed to do. It would restore my car's paint to showroom condition, but it was a long and exhausting process. Meguiars 6 Professional Cleaner Wax is all I need now that I'm a little older and a little wiser. In just one simple step, it cleans, polishes, and protects the paint of your car. I've used an orbital buffer as well as a hand to apply it. Spend the extra money on an orbital buffer or another type of buffer. Later on, you'll be able to thank me. This stuff is simple to apply; just apply a thin layer, wait until it dries to a haze, and then wipe it away with a clean microfiber. I buy them in bulk from Costco and use the yellow microfiber ones. After removing all of the cleaner wax, I give it a light spray of Meguiars spray detailer to give it that showroom shine. That's it. Perhaps it's just my aging eyes, but it looks just as good as the multi-step procedure. However, it's more than likely due to my advancing years. It removes the majority of light oxidation, scratches, and other flaws. It's something I do every two weeks or so. 3 months and a second coat of paint on the flats (roof, hood, trunk, etc. ). This is fantastic. The 64-ounce bottle is also reasonably priced.

M6 Magic (one of the best Meguiar's products you'll come across)
5/5

I usually polish, compound, and wax 7 to 10 cars per week. I decided to give the M6 a shot to see how it performed, and I was blown away. It's incredibly simple to apply (I use a random orbital polisher with an applicator pad) and remove. When it finally comes off, the paint looks like a mirror in most cases. It saves me a lot of time by combining two or three steps into one, with nearly identical results. For more neglected paint and deeper blemishes I still have to use compound, but for 80% of cars, especially newer models, this works like a charm and can combine compounding, br>br>I would still recommend claying the car before applying, especially on horizontal surfaces. It's also crucial to leave the product on for long enough to dry and glaze completely. Finish with a coat of spray wax to make your car look brand new. 5 stars.

I used this product on a 20-year-old truck that had nearly 200,000 miles on it, and it made the cloudy paint on the truck shine
5/5

The truck has seen a lot of off-road action and isn't afraid of getting muddy or flying gravel. The paint was dull and cloudy, and it hadn't been waxed in at least a decade. Before applying wax, I thoroughly cleaned the paint and applied a synthetic clay bar to it. It was shining like it was almost new after one application of M0616 and a relatively easy buffing off of the product. The truck has never been compounded or machine polished, so it has its fair share of rock chips, scratches, bird poo etching, and acid rain damage that can't be completely covered by a coat of wax, but after a single coat of M0616, the paint looks almost brand new from a distance of about 3 feet. Every time I touch the paint after clay barring and polishing, I am blown away by how smooth it is.

I've found the best cleaner/polish/wax that is both affordable and effective
5/5

This is the best and most user-friendly program I've come across. Simply wipe on, wait for it to dry, then wipe it away. I used to use Wesley's Auto Polish, and this is the closest thing I've found that isn't too expensive. Meguiar's Lite Duty Cleaner Wax can be purchased for $7 at WalMart. 45/16oz, so get this 64oz 6 Medium Duty Cleaner/Polish/Wax for LESS MONEY THAN 4 of the 16oz Walmart LITE DUTY, and it will clean and polish better, plus provide wax protection, in my opinion. After Waxing with the 6, go over all of the Plastic and Rubber Parts with Armoral, including the Taillight and Headlight Len's, to remove the wax and rejuvenate all of the Plastic and Rubber Parts. FYI, just like wood, plastic and rubber parts will dry out, shrink, crack, and rot. PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING BY USING ARMORAL LARGELY AND OFTEN. The plastic is beginning to DRY OUT when the black plastic parts begin to turn a white color.

It's unquestionably better than stuff
5/5

Meguiar's A1216 cleaner wax is definitely superior to regular Meguiar's A1216 cleaner wax. I paid a little more for the half gallon bottle because I clean my car on a regular basis and have a lot of products. All of my cleaning supplies are also kept in my house's climate-controlled back bedroom. All of my bottle products are kept in one tote, and all of my buffing bonnets and wax applicator pads with a buffer are kept in another. Then there are two more totes in my collection. My clean microfiber towels go in one tote, while my dirty microfiber towels go in the other. It makes sense to me because I am odd, and I believe I am OCD.

The Best Cleaner/Wax on the Market
5/5

My wife's new Toyota Avalon was strewn with tree droppings after a recent trip to Florida. We tried everything on it before settling on Goo Gone for the initial cleaning, followed by Meguir's 6 for the final cleaning and shine/protection. I was so impressed that I put it on my RAV4 Hybrid Limited to protect it during our winter skiing trip in the Rockies. br>Of all the products I've ever used, this one provides the best cleaning, protection, and shine. When I was younger, I would put it on my Porsches. You can't get any better than this.

It's fine for a set-up
5/5

It will clean up dirty streaks, but it will not actually correct the paint. This is a simple cleaner that I like to use with an orbital buffer to apply and remove it. It MUST be followed up with a protective coat of wax, such as Meguiars Carnauba or something similar (I use Collonite, but it isn't for everyone;) It's far too simple to make a time-consuming, labor-intensive error! However, it's so simple that you might as well do it every time you wash your car!.

This is fantastic material
5/5

This is because I'm an obsessive detailer. This is fantastic material. This is my go-to for non-oxidized or damaged finishes because I'm a detail freak. If your paint is in bad shape, I'd recommend using a dedicated polish followed by wax, but for a relatively new finish, this is a great one-step product. I usually top it with Collinite because I don't think it provides enough protection. But, for what it is, it's an excellent product.
