I found this product to be an excellent fit with My original keyed latch rod disconnected from the latch side and my original lock rod disconnected from the latch side The only way to latch is to latch only one side These keyed latches were installed in both doors. With 2 locks on the box instead of 1, I can keep the box much more securely. There are 4 keys (2 come with each latch), and all four open both locks. There is only one difference, however, in that I need to unlock and lift both latches to lift the cover open, something that I don't have an issue with, as I have it mounted lengthwise in the truck bed and can reach it fully from either side. There is a noticeable difference in the weight and solidity of the latches Compared to the originals, these are a lot better. There are no rivets in this version.
There are two latches keyed alike on my tool bow, and both work great.
Two of the latches on my fuel cell are the same as those I have had for two years. These were ordered for one of my trailers and are the same key as the one I already had. There are the same numbers on both You must complete step Even though the keys were cut two years apart, both keys had the same markings and stamped numbers.
The first time I bought them, I wished I had done so I think it took about 10 minutes to fit the new ones, including the drill time to remove the old ones. The price is well worth it.
Upon a year of use, the latches on the original version were weak. We found these replacement latches to be very sturdy, and the quality appears to be excellent.
When I bought my used toolbox, that was exactly what I was looking for. The installation was straightforward as I drilled out the original rivets and replaced them with new ones. Having said that, it took about 15 minutes from start to finish. There is no slop in the handles.
I was pleased with how it performed.
