In my 2017 F350 Dual Cab, I installed it
I think so. It was installed on a 2018 Ford F-150 I don't think the tailgates would be
My only need is to buy one of the items, but I would not buy them again from Amazon. DeezEE wouldn't replace my unit, so I had to get it replaced from DEEZEE, and the company who sold it on Amazon instructed me to do so. A product purchased through Amazon will not be covered by a warranty. It was easy to purchase it from Amazon, and I then bought it
I've got it on my 2019 F250 XLT and it fits well. Both the shell and the mounting hardware are the same.

In addition, this seller as well as Dee Zee themselves refuse to take action. It's ridiculous that each party blames the other and says the other one has to resolve the problem even though I sent them images and everything else.
I use it on my 2019 F350 and it works perfectly. It sorta works. It may be that the shock prevents the tailgate from slamming down, but when you try to close the tailgate, the cable becomes tangled between the shock and the side of the tailgate and prevents the opening and Unless you manually attach the cable on the left side of the shock (between the shock and the bed), you will not be able to close the tailgate. It would be a bit difficult and takes two hands to do that. A Deezee representative suggested an installation I do that turns out to be impossible, so he has sent the issue back to the development team for approval.
I then went back to Amazon and purchased another one for the passenger side - this one has a more gradual drop. Only to discover that there are no listings for the passenger side. I had to order an additional Though the linkage state that it is for the driver's side, I did not have any trouble installing it on the passenger's side. I simply reversed the mount pin on the tailgate and adjusted the angle to make both shocks work simultaneously. An old hose clamp was installed around the passenger side tailgate pin as an anti-theft measure before I installed this latch It keeps the pin from sliding back and forth when opening the tailgate, so it acts as a theft deterrent (didn't see the point in spending $25 on an aftermarket lock that is nothing more than the same hose clamp with plastic wrapped around it). It is great that they made this shock in a heavy-duty version.
My 2017 Super Duty worked very well with this product, but there was only one issue. There is noise coming from the strut. I just bought a new truck and now it sounds As soon as I contacted Dee Zee, they informed me the strut was not supposed to be noisy, and the kit was replaced immediately. My experience with the new replacement strut was just as frustrating as the first one. Dee Zee failed to respond to my emails regarding the strut replacement.
Set the socket on a ratchet and use it for reference as to what size you need on the socket. It's not bad to have instructions. I am very happy with the results. Once installation was completed, all was as expected. The tailgate accessory is very nice. I would highly recommend this product. You don't want to buy a knock off for a few dollars like I almost did. As far as I can tell, this works fine.
Over the last couple of weeks, the added suspension on the tailgate has proved invaluable. As soon as I open the tailgate, I can let go and it won't slam shut. A normal drop speed would leave a little kid with a head bonk. It's perfect for little kids. In my opinion, the hex tool they provide (t50, I believe) is not the best fit, but you can get it with patience. The function is great, and otherwise the device blends in nicely with the surroundings.
The product is priced well, easy to install (only hiccup was I wasn't able to remove the bolt on my truck easily to install the plate), and overall an OK product. I didn't realize only one came in the pack, but this is not really a problem. At least it doesn't collide as far as it does without it. It still comes down quickly, but at least it doesn't slam as much. My opinion is that it needs to be slower or that two should be available. The 2019 Ford F-150 can be fitted with this part Just need the right torx bit and an impact drill to get the job done. If I had spent the money, I would have bought Ford's instead of Toyota.
It was very easy to install, though the included torx wasn't quite big enough for my taste. The bolt for the retention cable was properly removed and replaced with the tool, but it was a bit hard to keep it from popping out with a slick and too short tool. I had to use a box wrench for leverage to complete the task, but it all worked out. As far as the product itself goes, though, it Despite difficulty opening the tailgate, I am capable of doing so. Opening the tailgate is a slow and smooth process.
