Questions & Answers

What if my 2008 Toyota Sequoia uses this?

Because they only have one version of this cover, we do not have a complete list of fitments. If the cover physically looks the same, then it will work.

How do I know if it'll fit my ?

Your 2009 Toyota Prius 2nd Generation will fit with this.

Does this work on a 2008 Toyota Yaris or Subaru Legacy?

My 2005 Toyota Prius responded perfectly to this upgrade.

If I need this part or a replacement for the entire device, how can I tell? It is sometimes difficult to open my liftgate when it sticks. A melt has formed on the handle. ?

Because the cover for my button had melted, my fingers turned black whenever I touched Before I could replace the button cover, I had to remove the button switch, which you will also have to do, and clean the melted covering off the button. As far as I know, you don't have to replace the After taking it out and cleaning it, you can determine how dirty it is. It was gently praxed out with the aid of a flathead screwdriver. When I put the new cover on the switch, it popped back right in place after a firm push, and then the screws that hold it in place went in. You might have a different problem if your liftgate sticks when you are raising it. When there is a stuck button, it may need to be cleaned thoroughly. Throughout the cover, the switch is the only thing covered.

Fits perfectly for the trunk release of melted cars
4/5

It is true that many of you on Camry have also experienced a goopy, melted trunk release. The item I found to replace it has been found. There are no rubber washers with this replacement part, so my only complaint is that it's missing one. The ones we had in the car were impossible to clean and had to be applied less than perfectly clean.

Here are some helpful things I found while installing them. Rather than rely on the mess coming off the existing, melted cover, I decided to coat it completely with flour. I kept a handful of flour to recoat as needed, and it worked really well. In order to protect my skin, I wore latex gloves. I have never been able to get this crap off my As part of the repair, I worked with the trunk open to prevent having to bend over while doing so. In order to take out the screws, I used a socket set, since a screwdriver would not fit it. Keep the rubber washers that are on the existing cover. When removing old screws, be cautious not to damage them. It is easy for them to strip. My method of removing the assembly was by gently prying it out with a flat screwdriver. You don't want to pull it out too Wires are attached to the device. It features a small piece in the middle that can be easily removed and a spring-loaded piece that can be removed as well I recommend that you keep these. After scraping as much of the goop as I could with the screwdriver and using Googone to remove as much sticky mess as possible, I cleaned the surface. I reassembled it because it wasn't perfect, but it was good enough for what I needed. I did not have any issues operating the trunk release with the provided screw cover and screws. It was very easy to use the googone to remove the sticky original button cover's messy finger prints. For the sake of protecting the paint from the googone, I gave the car a quick wash with soapy water. It took about 20 minutes for the repair to be completed. I am pleased with the purchase, and I would recommend it.

I found exactly what I was looking for to fix the rubber hatch latch in The latch on your rear hatch of those Toyota vehicles made around 2007 is most likely melted and will leave you with large black marks on your fingers when you open them
5/5

I can assure you that you will appreciate this! It is not necessary to replace the latch in its entirety, only the rubber part. I agree, the clean-up was great It's a bit yucky that the old rubber is coming off, but this works great for.

This product is of great quality, the button is fixed, and it will last for a long time
5/5

Definitely worth the time and effort! This is a quality product that I believe will last for quiet some time. I have worked in the automotive industry for quite a while, so I can tell you that it is worth the money! There was a problem with the rubber hatch opener buttons on my Scion XB. It was difficult for me to open my hatch in the cold and difficult to do so There is no rubber left on the button, and it is completely clogged. As for removing the garnish, or even unplugging the button, I did not do it. Due to the fact that the trim must be removed from the house interior, plus the clip that secures the trim is one-time use and it would potentially damage The license plate was removed and the surrounding area was masked with tape so that no solvent, residue, or scratches could affect the The button was removed with the use of a metal clip remover, plastic trimming tools, and a tiny ratcheting bit wrench. The moving center piece of the button was removed to make it easier to clean. Following a thorough cleaning of lubricated moving components. My only issue with cleaning melted rubber was that it was difficult to get it to an acceptable level of cleanliness. Plastic trim tools and brake cleaner were used with a microfiber towel. If there is only a small amount of left-over melted rubber in an area, as long as it is not excessive, and does not interfere with moving parts, that's okay. It was easier to clean the part if I removed the parts, however, if you break another part then it costs you more time and money. So, just purchase it if you have the same issue.

A replacement that is exactly the same There were both good and bad things about Sienna (2010)
4/5

Exactly like the OEM part, this cover is lightweight and flexible, and will most likely break down with time. Like everyone else, I discovered my original cover was partially melted. I was happy to find that the melted part had not gone onto the switch itself, but instead adhered to the plastic On my 2010 Sienna, getting the crappy, little OEM screws loosened without disassembling the interior hatch covers was the most difficult part. To loosen the screws, I used an offset phillips screwdriver. I then used pliers to fully loosen and remove the screws. After that, I used a flat screwdriver as a wedge to ease the plastic mount out of the car where it dangled on several inches of cable, so I had space The residue from Goo Gone's use would likely have caused the new cover to degrade faster, so I used a utility knife to remove just enough of the goo to fit over Replacing all the screws and then installing the assembly back into the bodywork of the car was next. As a result, the screws supplied with the new cover were of better quality than OEM (larger, deeper heads), making installation easier. Several hundred dollars are charged by dealers, but they replace all the parts, not just the cover, after removing the Whether I own the car for another five years or not, I will replace this cover again instead of waiting for it to wear out. The following is an update for November 2020 I have no problems with it, it works as it should.

I am very pleased with this product
5/5

It was perfect fit and the seal "lip" fit well over the handle. Anyway, I finally found a replacement latch after having to use duct tape to cover the old one for some time. In looking at different suppliers, I felt this was my best option, and I still feel this way. Despite being made of good quality and fitted well, this cover has a very good look and feel. There is a perfect fit around the gasket lip of the actual switch. I was able to use the original screws, but the replacements looked nearly Voici a few tips that may be helpful Once the screws have been removed with an angled screwdriver (phillips head), use a flat head screwdriver to remove the actual switch (clips at both ends). The gobs of gooey rubber can be scraped away from the switch with a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool. In order to take off thin smears of tarry stuff off the paint and I such around the mount, Goo Gone does a great job. Keeping in mind that you will be covering the switch with the new cover, to which you do not need to give it a perfect Furthermore, this switch cover has a gasket "lip" that extends over the edge of the switch on all four Screws should be used, regardless of whether they are new or existing.
