I think the angle you use with the Sidekick is off if you use it if you are making a lot of hexagons - Jay Bird has rulers in two sizes that may prove useful to you. The shape isn't perfect, but it is interesting. You should not buy the Sidekick with the idea of making hexagons if you don't have it already.
In the Jaybird Sidekick, you will be able to draw diamonds or While I have not used Deb Tucker's rule of the V block yet, I am thinking the Jaybird Sidekick may be better suited for that purpose.

This ruler is larger than expected, but it is solid and well constructed. Since I am left handed and this device is designed for right-handed people, it might be a bit awkward to use. While it can be used upside down, the measurement is upside down, which can be difficult to read. Having a rotary mat would be helpful since you can get your mat set, hold it, and rotate it 180 degrees so you can cut on the left hand side. However, it is working well so far!.
This is too difficult to use if you are left handed. Because it has a single use on one end and a different use on the other, you can't throw it upside down and use it right side up.
Used to make a quick 60 degree baby triangle quilt. It was easy to put together. My only complaint is that there was no advice on where to lay it down, and no instructions (because I was confusing myself on it). It saved so much time in cutting and already had the dog ears ready to go. I also found it easy to fit the triangles. (I cannot blame the cutting for my loss of )I could use this to make the sidekick quilt, but haven't.
It is very good and I am very satisfied with it. It's a good ruler, made of durable materials. Simple instruction and easy to follow make it fun and easy In case I end up cutting some larger triangle or diamond pieces in the future, I am glad that I spent a little more on the "super" sized version of this.
It is just what I was looking for to cut the Nebula by Jaybird.
It is of great quality for the price.
