Questions & Answers

If it lies flat or will you have to hold it open to draw, how does the book lay?

I can't lie flat on it. To keep it open, I use little binder clips. Despite this, however, it is a wonderful sketchbook. This paper is robust and can handle a great deal of abuse.

Can the cover be made so it can be stored in a field note holder?

The sketchbook is much thicker and different in binding from Field Notes, and it's hard to tell what size it is without looking at the cover.

Are fountain pens good with it?

Ink never bleeds from the dip pen I use all the time because the ink is India ink. It does not spread through or across I can honestly say that these are the best ink sketchbooks I've ever come across! Let me know if you need any more help!

Which number of pages is this?

This is a 28-sheet set. On a sheet of 56 pages, if you count front and back of each sheet, you have 56 spaces to create artwork

Stillman and Birn Zeta are my favorite bands

Among the sketchbooks I am a huge fan of are Stillman and Birn Zeta. Zeta paper is great because of its quality. Watercolors are quite easy to apply because the surface is very smooth and thick. Even when drawing with a pencil or a pen, it is one of my favorites to work with.

Not a thing I would change! It is the best sketchbook paper I have The entire book is now filled with a variety of paints, markers, and pens - It does not bleed through at all

My main purpose for using this small sketchbook is to carry it when I am on the move. Sometimes I add watercolour paint to my drawings I draw with graphite or permanent pigment ink The other use I have for it is to swatch colours and test paints in the the perfect size to fit in a pocket or a bag or a pouch for art supplies.
