The ILLO Sketchbooks were mentioned on YouTube by some of my favorite The first time I saw it, I thought it was gimmicky and was a bit expensive (I'm used to use Canson multimedia sketchbooks). I wanted to try something new that would elevate my art game, but I wasn't sure what that would be. It was only the 10 by 10 that was available at the moment, so I purchased it. The pages of this sketchbook have been treated to many things media wise. I have used markers, graphite, watercolors, acrylic, color pencils, and glue in this book, and it is still in good shape. My favorite feature is how flat it lies and that it has a folder in the back. That convenience makes it easier to travel with references and reach the corners. Please scroll down for experience details (for my marker users) I have never experienced bleeding on another page, but I have seen it ghost on the other side. I would like to offer my users the following advice A smooth paper is less textured than a textured paper. It needs to be hardcover with good quality paper, and it needs to be able to handle multiple mediums like watercolor, ink, graphite, and acrylic. That's all I asked for in my new sketchbook. There is no point in getting too hardcore with watercolor on anything other than Even a light wash will not damage many sketchbooks. A good example of one is this. I enjoy drawing with fountain pens and alcohol markers, but it is hard to find a sketchbook that has both at an affordable price. I was thrilled to discover such a huge multimedia sketchbook online - it is amazing! The sketchbook looked very promising when I looked through fountain pen forums, so I tried it out There's a lot of stuff in here! I was surprised by how big it was. In addition to the square format, the font is neat. Pens such as fountain pens and drawing pens hold up well on this paper. The feathering on my sketchbooks is usually minimal when I use a fountain pen, but I see no feathering at all at the moment. On the other hand, when I tried using alcohol markers, I had a very difficult time. They are splotchy, and small white patches begin to appear as they begin to dry (especially with lighter colors). This is a splendid sketchbook, but I'm a bit sad that I won't be able to use my two favorite materials together in it. Therefore, I give it a 3 star rating.

The book came in the mail, and I was very eager to start journaling and writing ideas. I was happy with the paper considering that I was going to use just As a result, an imprint of a "fold" appeared. When I went down to the stores I usually go to buy supplies, I was not able to find my copic sketchbooks, either they are not available for the moment or they are too expensive. Seeing that my notepad is nearly empty, I turned to more affordable alternatives. That's when I thought about the illo sketchbook, about which a YouTuber I frequently watch (by the name of Drawing Wiff Waffles) constantly makes glowing remarks, and she usually colors in the book with copics. It's a good one, so I buy one of those. Some people might have a hard time adapting to it. In any case, I disliked using copics in a sketchbook that wasn't meant for them when I started using them, but this is better than when I first used them. It didn't bleed through totally (though I did put a piece of paper behind just to be safe). As I mentioned above, the only real issue I had was bleeding when I used the blender, so if I wish to continue using copics with this sketchbook I will need to limit my use of the beloved blender I adore

At the end of the day, I'm not going to turn my nose up at a sketchbook (I have many out there and use them to the fullest extent). While I am waiting for a proper bound sketchbook for my copics, I'll just have to get used to it until I can afford one. Furthermore, as a plus I decorated the outside with acrylics (picture). The sketchbook hasn't been exposed to the outside in a week, but the paint has stuck to the pages just fine. Be aware that the book may stick to surfaces, and paint with white instead of black so you're not layering too.
