Fiskars 01- is what you're looking for, Don. 5437 I bought these about a year ago and plan to buy a few more for gifts this year. They're made in Finland. You've found them!
I'm 78 years old and my hands aren't very strong. I use these scissors on a regular basis and have never had any issues with them. They're nice and sharp, and they're very good at cutting. You can simply loosen the screw if it is too tight. Fiskars has long been a favorite of mine. I simply order a new pair when they become worn out; they are inexpensive. I hope you found this information useful.
It doesn't work like that at all. Any product that comes with a sheath, I'm sure, will state so in the description. I'm confident you'll find something if you search for scissors with sheath. Best of luck!
In the neighborhood of 40. Maybe 45.

I had a pair of these that had been in my possession for at least a decade. The blade was etched with FISKARS USA when I was five years old. Unfortunately, I broke the handle by attempting to cut something that was too thick. Attempts to glue it failed, and these had been my favorite pair of scissors for a long time. Regardless of the negative reviews, I ordered these and, guess what? They were COMPLETELY IDENTICAL! The only difference a quarter-century later was that the hinge now had a phillips head screw and the USA engraving had vanished. Aside from that, they have the same feel and cut as the old ones, and they have the same appearance. It's as if I've resurrected my old pair, so I'm overjoyed for the time being.
This is the second time I've purchased a pair of Fiskars 8" scissors. My first pair lasted more than 50 years until my (now ex-) boyfriend decided to cut some electrical wires with them. (The breakup wasn't solely due to the destruction of my beloved Fiskars scissors. ) ) I've used these scissors for paper crafts and sewing. My previous pair had been well-cared for and had never been sharpened before the mistreatment, and they were still razor-sharp! The new pair (which I've been using for over a year) appears to be of similar construction to the original pair. The hinge is secure, making it simple to cut fabric, paper, and cut packages and snip herbs in the kitchen. It's a breath of fresh air to purchase a product that doesn't skimp on quality. The only caveat is that these scissors are not suitable for cutting heavy fabrics or cardboard; instead, use a quality dressmaker's shears for heavy fabrics and a utility knife for cardboard, and a wire cutter for cutting wire.
When I need scissors, I prefer a nice sharp pair, and there are few better all-around scissors than these. Fiskars scissors are a better choice for general-purpose scissors than a traditional pair. br>br>I've tried other brands, both expensive and inexpensive, but none have come close to Fiskars' quality. br>br>These scissors stay sharper for longer, and the screw that holds the two blades together has never come loose in my experience. br>I keep a pair in my kitchen, workshop, office, and even the greenhouse. br>br>I have different pairs for fabric and paper, as well as for other things like twine, plastic, and even flower stems. br>As a result, the separate pairs for fabric and paper will remain sharper for longer. br>The general-purpose pairs are replaced more frequently, but at a reasonable cost. br>br>Fiskars, in my opinion, is the best brand for a sharp, clean cut.
For many years, I relied on an old pair of Fiskars orange-handled scissors. They lost their edge over time, and I attempted to sharpen them in a variety of ways, but the results were never satisfactory. br>br>I honestly thought I'd never see these again, assuming they couldn't possibly still be made. But they're here, and I'm overjoyed to have found them and to discover that Fiskars had made no changes. They still fit my hand perfectly, are the right length, and the orange handle can be found in the junk drawer.
I have a lot of different brands and pairs, but none of them come close to these. They're sharp, they've stayed sharp, cutting straight lines is a breeze (which isn't always easy for me because I have a tremor), and they fit perfectly in my hand; I love them! When I was younger, my mother had a pair that she was — and still is; she's had them for about 35 years — extremely protective of; we were taught not to use them (she's left-handed, so she had that pair to help), and I never understood why until I got my own pair. br>br>I've spent a lot more money on scissors that aren't even close to as good as these. They're an excellent value for a high-quality pair of scissors.
After less than 9 months, I would not consider cutting. Replacement pair is the same. Fiskars appears to have failed in its attempt to stay competitive at a lower price point. This model is no better than a pair of generic shoes from a department store. It isn't of Fiskars' caliber.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on my first pair of orange Fiskars. For months, I had been reading reviews. and I'm a couponing aficionado who just likes to save money on everything. in the vicinity of paper I'm a total nerd for office supplies! I always appear to be holding a pair of scissors. These scissors are extremely difficult to work with. I couldn't believe how cumbersome and "not smooth" they felt after just one session of trying to cut coupons! They might be better suited to arts and crafts, but I didn't think they were particularly sharp or ergonomically shaped. I had no idea what all the fuss was about. I simply returned to my $2 bet. 00 grocery store shears that open and close with ease and don't put a strain on my hand! PS I tried lubricating the blades as well, but it didn't help.
After breaking my wife's Fiskar scissor after probably 30 years, I bought a pair of the exact same pair to replace them and get myself out of the doghouse. Fabrics and various paper stocks are used in her artwork, so they are put to good use. I also bought a set of three Scotch Precision Ultra Edge Titanium Scissors for around the same price a few days later. In 30 years, I'll give you an update on how those turned out:.
