There are a few issues:br>br>1. The gas cooktop's dimensions were slightly smaller in width and length than the old electric cooktop, but they still covered the hole in the counter. To keep the cooktop centered and from falling through if it was pushed too far to one side, I had to build a wood frame underneath it. br>2. Because the cast iron grates are raised, the distance between the top of a pot on the stove and the microwave and exhaust fan above is reduced. To ensure that you have enough clearance, check the minimum dimensions for your microwave and exhaust fan. Ours was only 18 inches long, which was just about enough.
3. Burners are available in a variety of sizes, with a small and large burner in the front, two medium-sized burners in the back, and the largest burner in the center. Because we use them the most, I'd like the two medium-sized burners to be in front. br>4. The burners are farther away from a person standing because the control knobs are on the front. I'd rather have the control knobs on the side, which would allow the burners to be closer to the front.
5. The knobs on the controls are small and round. To light, press down, hold, and turn the igniter until the flame is lit and the heat is sufficient to keep it lit. I'd like knobs that are a little bigger.
6. Gas will be turned off if the knob is held for too long or if the flame goes out.
7. The cooktop is pre-programmed for natural gas use right out of the box. The propane orifices are included if you wish to use it with propane. A gas regulator with natural gas and propane settings is also included on the cooktop. The diagram spring cover must be unscrewed and flipped over so that the N is on the bottom and the P is on the top. To ensure that this is done correctly, you'll need some knowledge and skill.
8. There is insufficient control range on the gas control knob. Even on the smallest burner at its lowest setting, the flame tends to be high. To avoid burning and sticking to the bottom of the pot, certain sauces must be constantly stirred.
9. The cooktop is manufactured in China rather than Italy. Having said that, the gas cooktop is well-made and dependable. There are numerous parts to remove when cleaning the cooktop. If the cast iron grates are dropped, they will most likely break.
It's a good stove, but you need to make sure you have the right gas fitting. It's just a stub that protrudes from the bottom. One thing I don't like is that when you light the eye, you have to hold the knob down for a long time until the sensor heats up before the flame will stay lit. This is how it was created. It's difficult to start a fire. When there isn't a flame, the sensor ensures that the gas is turned off. My wife claims that cleaning it is difficult because the heavy grates must be removed in order to clean it properly. I don't mind because it isn't a big deal. Holding down the knob for at least 5 seconds or more is a pain for me when it comes to lighting. It's clicked at least 25 times.
After inquiring about the defective power board that was preventing the igniter from working (we were using a match to light the stove), I received a new power board 6 weeks later, and the stove has been a wonderful AND BEAUTIFUL addition to our kitchen once reassembled and properly working. Multiple pots and pans can be used without colliding with one another because of the size. It's also a simple addition to keep clean. I've attached a photo of the small piece that caused me so much trouble in the first place.
br>The thermocouple safety feature is one of my favorites. br>The grills are lighter and closer to the flame. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but it heats and cools more quickly. br>I like how the grill is divided into three sections; it's easier to clean and there's less heat transfer to the grates that aren't being used. br>In comparison to the soft stainless Electrolux uses in their units, the glass surface is easier to clean and much more scratch resistant. It outperforms the Electrolux it replaced (which was riddled with flaws) by a long shot. br>I will say that the manual could be better, and that the unit could benefit from set screws from the box beneath the sidewall to the cabinet. br>I can only assume Empava is attempting to gain market share through aggressive pricing, as I believe I have stumbled upon a hidden gem.
The gas stove is very nice. It was extremely simple to set up. Before installing the new one, the buyer must first purchase a gas line. Also, if the gas compressor regulator is not screwed in correctly, it will not work. The gas stove is fantastic.
I like how the stove top is designed and how well it functions. To keep the gas going, the knobs must be turned and pushed down with a little finesse, but once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal. Empava's customer service is outstanding, and I highly recommend them!.
I've had a lot of trouble lighting my burners. One even went out while I was cooking. The first one they sent was damaged when we opened it, so I had to send it back. They quickly replaced it with no fuss, but we've had issues since then. I simply don't want to deal with returning it, waiting for a replacement, and having to purchase a new gas line. In addition, there are three levels of difficulty: high, medium, and low. Because nothing is marked, it all appears to be arbitrary. br>br>Overall, it's a vast improvement over the previous one. Much easier to clean (except for the black pieces that the flame comes up around) and I like the variety of sizes, though if I had the option, I would rearrange them. It hasn't acted up in a while, so perhaps it was just working out some kinks in its system?.
