It had to be converted to propane, but it now functions perfectly! br>Because the burners are sealed, cleaning is a breeze! br>It appears to be well-built, but only time will tell if this is the case! br>Because I installed it on my deck's outdoor kitchen, I'll be keeping an eye on its durability! br>The burners are easy to turn on, but you must hold the knob in place long enough for the safety feature to activate! br>All you have to do is keep the control knob pressed in for a few seconds while it heats up! br>If the flame goes out, this safety feature will shut off any continuous flow of gas. As if something spilled on the flame by accident. or your pot boils over while you're gone for any length of time! br>The heat from the burners is consistent, and one of them can reach 18K BTU! br>Excellent for searing and sautéing in a pan! …. If you want that breath of the dragon flavor you get in a Chinese restaurant, wok cooking isn't the way to go. that necessitate a minimum of 100, 000 BTUs, It'll work in a wok if you heat it long enough to get that sear on your food! On all burners, there are nice simmer features! br>br>I searched high and low for a cook top with the features of this one, but none could compare to it for the money spent! br>If you put this on your deck or in your kitchen, I don't think you'll be disappointed!.
Reviewing the 12" 5 Burner Lycan, this time with six burners is what a lot of the customer reviews say it should be (I don't understand why they lump together two different products), this was an easy installation; took out the old one and fitted it. (inspires me to cook more. ).
I can't say enough good things about this line of products. We replaced a Magic Chef four-burner 24x20" range that had been in the family for 40 years. The old range took FOREVER to boil a pot of water and didn't have enough heat energy to properly sear/brown food in a reasonable amount of time; this range's center and L/R front burners get insanely hot. Also excellent are the simmer and warming burners. Sure, the stainless steel isn't as thick as the old range's, but it's adequate and has held up to having multiple pots/pans on it at once, including a 12qt stock pot that I use frequently. I'd buy this range again, even if it cost $100 more.
The Lycan 36" gas stovetop is one of my favorites! It's a good deal for the money because it includes gas jets for converting from natural gas to LP, as well as a gas regulator that can easily switch between natural gas and L. I needed to convert to LP, which necessitated changing the jets. The large center burner's jet would not losen, necessitating the unit's disassembly. This unit took the place of a 20-year-old 36-inch Kitchen Aid cooktop with a faulty spark ignition. The only issue I had installing the Lycan was that the cutout for the Lycan was 1" wider than the specifications stated. I had to cut both sides of my stone countertop with a diamond-tipped circular saw. The other minor issue was that the gas hookup was on the opposite side of my old range, which necessitated replumbing the gas line to the stovetop.
I had trouble lowering the flame on the burners, but after contacting the company, I was able to resolve the issue. br>Excellent response from the customer service department. I'd suggest it.
This cooktop gave me the look I wanted at a fraction of the cost, and its large center burner is fantastic! When I have people over to my house, I always get compliments. It was extremely simple to set up. br>br> I managed to complete the task entirely on my own! br>br>I'm so happy I came across this cooktop!.
Everything is visible due to the stainless steel, except for a fantastic cooktop. It's so much easier to fit five burners into a 36" space!.
It is simple to put together. Excellent craftsmanship. You can spend $2,000 on these cooktops, but there isn't much of a difference in my opinion. This unit also produces a significant amount of BTUs. We replaced our Bosch cooktop with this one, and there is no comparison. We bought it ten years ago for $1,000.
