Questions & Answers

Is the battery and charging cable included with the controllers? Is it also available in black?

I was unable to locate or obtain a charging cable for the controller. It did, however, come with non-rechargeable batteries. It is possible to charge). Yes. Black is the color of the controllers. br>We have a 15-year-old and an 11-year-old, both of whom are pleased with the system - WITH THE EXCEPTION that almost everything requires a membership. Because we can't afford a three-person membership, all of their high scores and other information is stored under my gamertag. *smh

I only recently received two. When I turned them on, all they did was blink - They don't connect, and I've tried pressing the power button on the console as well. So, what do I do now?

Hold the sync button on the controllers until the power button lights begin to spin, then press the sync button on the Xbox 360 console (mine is next to the front USB ports).

Will this controller work with a PC receiver that I already have? Thanks?

If you have the proper PC receiver to go with the controller, it should work.

This purchase did not meet my expectations
3/5

At all. *Update on the Seller* - I took the initiative and decided to return it. There were no issues with shipping, returns, or refunds when using Amazon fulfillment. br>br>I've only had it for about an hour, but I was going to give it three stars if it weren't for the price. At $50. 00 ($49. 99), I was expecting the genuine, original controller that came with my system; I'm not sure if I'm going to bother returning this because it appears to be a facsimile. If I decide to keep it, I'll update my review if the quality remains stable (which I doubt) or deteriorates (which I suspect). br>br>I was suspicious of it right away when I opened it. I compared the weight to that of my original controller and found it to be significantly lighter. I was looking for a genuine Xbox 360 controller, not a knockoff, which this one appears to be. The battery cartridge is clumsy, the bumper buttons are loud, and the overall feel is different. It's not "glossy," but it's a little rough. Also, the thumbs-up The sticks, as well as the overall grip, are slick (where- as the thumbstick on a genuine Xbox 360 controller Rubber contacts on the sticks ensure that they do not slip. crucial for a quick game). br>br>In addition, there are minor smudges and scratches on the item - I'm not sure if it's new as described, despite the packaging. **Update: br>br> *
br>It's as expected after a few weeks of use*
br> This controller is of such poor quality compared to a genuine Xbox 360 controller that it has been demoted from two stars to one. I could have saved money by buying a refurbished used controller for half the price. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it *does* work (at least for the time being). Who knows how long it will last), but that is where the good begins. br>br>As previously stated, the bumper buttons are loud, but all of the other buttons are as well. So, if you're playing a fast-paced game that requires a lot of input (e. g. Anyone within hearing distance is distracted by the noise (for example, fighting games). br>br>I just tried it out with a first-person shooter today, and the sensitivity on the right thumb- HYPER HYPER HYPER HYPER HYPER HYPER HYPER HY I compared it to the controller I had when I first bought it. It's nearly impossible to play because the camera angle (the right thumb's default input) is so low. It's all over the place in first-person shooters. It's difficult enough to point in a specific direction, let alone aim at a moving target effectively. There is a problem with power consumption. br>br> I'm going to take this apart in my spare time (I'm not going to return it, and I might learn something). I'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem, but I'm guessing there's a problem with the power circuit's connections. I used two AA batteries from my original controller in this one, and while they worked fine in the original (with the usual blinking green indicator lights for low battery), the power kept cutting out after a few seconds in this one. I measured the resistance between the battery cartridge contacts and the controller's four pins, as shown in the photos. The readings were drastically different, with circuits that should have been open showing as closed, varying values, and so on. br>br>Also, while looking into the power issue, I noticed that this one didn't have an FCC id. There are a few other differences that you can see in the photos that I haven't looked into yet. br>br>I replace these controllers on a regular basis because I only use my left thumb. Playing fighting games with a stick is a good idea. I have a couple of fight sticks, but when I'm not in a position to comfortably use a fight stick, I prefer to use the gamepad. I'll probably see if I can get away with the thumb-up. Take a piece of this controller and solder it to one of the many genuine controllers I have on hand.

. However, I cannot recommend this product to anyone looking for a usable Xbox 360 controller, especially if it is their only option. br>br>** Final Update *
Please do not buy this. In addition to the foregoing, the battery pack is now cutting out frequently and randomly (just a few days after I posted my previous update). This controller is a total squander of funds.

I couldn't get the product to work. I expected wear-and-tear, but there was a lot of it. and-tear as it is used, but the extent to which it is now makes the "very good" condition appear to be a complete fabrication. Battery acid damage has occurred, and one of the triggers has been chewed on by an animal. Instead of being sold, this controller should've been thrown away. Check out the images.

Because my review appears to have been removed, I'm reposting it here
3/5

Because my review appears to have been deleted, I'm reposting it here. br>br>The batteries get stuck in, and other reviews say they last about 10 hours; being unable to remove the batteries without a pair of pliers is enough of a flaw to earn this a one-star rating. I don't want to have to take the risk of breaking the controller battery bay every time I need to change the batteries. Furthermore, this is ineffective. br>br> On three different devices, I tried it out. Two computers and one actual Xbox (yes, I saw the disclaimer that it won't work with an Xbox).

This isn't brand new or government-issued gear

The controller I received was a generic knockoff that had been refurbished or used previously. It was completely devoid of any X Box logos.

This stock Microsoft Xbox 360 controller has excellent ergonomics and build quality
5/5

This is a factory wireless Microsoft Xbox 360 controller, so anyone with an Xbox 360 should be familiar with it. It won't work right away unless you pair it with your Xbox 360 by pressing the sync buttons on both the console and the controller at the same time. The controller's sync button is a small, almost unnoticeable button on the front of the controller, between the (LB) and (RB) shoulder buttons, near the socket. On the front of the console, there is a sync button. It's tucked away next to the memory card slot on my 360 Slim. More information is available at support. xbox. com. com. br>br>I haven't used the Xbox 360 controller in this manner, but it appears that it can be done with the help of a wireless gaming receiver (.

I'll give it a 3 out of 5 because it still works
3/5

This is the second controller I've received after returning the first as clearly defective; they're in retail packaging and appear to be brand new, but quality control has gone out the window. br>br>The first one I got had an oily film all over the housing, which made my hands itch (creepy), and the D-cell battery was dead. When I pressed the right directions with my PAD down, they only registered half of the time and made a clicky noise. br>br>The second one I got was free of the oily allergic film, but the directional pad still makes the clicky noise when you press down or right. (On my other two 360 gamepads, this does not occur. ) On this one, the down direction only works 75% of the time. Since it is only one part of the controller, and it still works fairly well, I will give it 3/5. br>br>I'm curious if Microsoft has switched OEMs recently. In any case, I can't help but think this is an attempt to persuade Windows users to purchase the new Xbox One controller and Xbox One Wireless Adapter.
