It comes with a standard battery pack, but these are not worth your time or money. They're fakes that don't work.
You can get double AA batteries or rechargeable batteries, as well as an Xbox battery that is rechargeable.
Xbox should be turned on. On the controller, press the middle (silver) button. On the Xbox unit, there is a button beneath and to the left of the power button. When you press the power button, the light on the power button flashes. Now press the small button to the left of the power jack on the top of the controller. The controller's light will begin to flash. Both units are now in sync with each other. Both units' lights will stop flashing once they are connected. After another ten seconds, the controller should have been paired with the Xbox. If that doesn't work, repeat the process and return the controller if it still won't pair.
You must pair your phone by pressing the home button.

It appears to be of high quality, and my children enjoy using it. I was having trouble syncing, but I discovered that while the controller is in sync mode, you must press the sync button on the Xbox console. Everything was in perfect sync.
I've been using it on both my Nvidia Shield and my Xbox 360, and it's been great. The analog sticks float a little, but that could be due to muscle memory from newer controllers.
To begin, I'd like to state that I'm using this on a PC rather than an XBOX. It was purchased to replace an extremely old Microsoft XBOX 360 controller that had reached the end of its useful life. For the past ten years, I've had that old thing. br>The first thing I noticed about this product was that it was instantly recognized by my computer as an XBOX ONE controller rather than a 360 controller. That could explain why so many people are having trouble connecting this device to a 360. br>When I tried to play MHW, I noticed that both sticks had a dead zone and sensitivity issues. I pulled the controller up in windows to see if it needed to be calibrated and found that there was no detection for the first 50% of movement on the left stick. Then I discover that the correct stick began detection at 50% and ended at about 75% to the edge of the moveable area, so there is only a small detection window. What a waste; how could anyone possibly play a game with something like that? br>I spent an hour playing with this and another hour fiddling with the settings before having to give up. br>I'll be blunt: spend a little more money and get a real XBOX controller.
Dude! It was fantastic, dude. I said Ya, my wife said Whoa, and then the dog barked and we all said HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa.
The first set of these controllers I received did not work, so I ordered another set. They would not connect to the Xbox and would not even turn on. They had brand new batteries in them, but when I pressed the middle button, it would only weakly flash and wouldn't stay on. Because they were defective, I returned them and requested replacements. Today I got them. They're defective once more, and they're a piece of garbage knock-off. offs. These are a waste of time and money.
It appeared to be of good quality at first glance (buttons, joystick, and controller construction) until I removed the back plate to insert the batteries. I could tell something wasn't quite right as soon as I pressed the battery pack/holder release button. When I looked closer, I noticed that a pin holding the button spring was completely broken. I attempted to install the batteries into the pack by gently attaching the plate into place, as my 5-year-old had been looking forward to playing his new game with me all day. but with no success My night came to an end with a disgruntled son, a broken controller, and a $25 loss. I intend to spend the additional funds by driving to a nearby game store and purchasing an Xbox brand controller.
This is an abnormally well reviewed product for some reason (with only 2013 of reviews under 2 as of this writing). The left thumb stick on the one I got was wired to the D-pad, indicating that it was made by overworked Chinese child slave labor. The "A" button on the pad was connected to the Start button, and who knows what else. It wouldn't connect to my Xbox 360, so I'm not sure how much more of it is a complete and total failure. br>br>The price should be a red flag (I had my suspicions but ignored them). Do not purchase; I understand that Xbox 360 controllers are becoming more expensive, but this is a waste of money.
However, the quality is inconsistent. Instead of having to use a separate proprietary receiver for each unit, these controllers worked with my existing xb360 receiver for Windows, which was exactly what I needed. I was able to connect three controllers and have player 1 as the primary player. In the order in which they were paired, four lights light up. The only issue is that one of the controller's battery compartments was not molded properly, and the battery pack would not latch. br>br> Even though it was working, the player light on this one would not stay lit and would instead rotate. I've placed an order for a replacement. br>br>Also, because the edges don't line up perfectly, they're a little sharp at the corners, but they're still perfectly usable and comfortable.
