Then there was the epic failure. It has the same appearance and feel as my other XBOX360 controller. For about two weeks, everything was fine. The games now only respond to sideways and downward movement of the left stick, rather than up and down (which is inconvenient when playing games like Madden NFL!). I dismantled it to see if there was anything wrong with it. It'll be a bummer if we lose another player. It's time to look for a new controller.
