Questions & Answers

What is the length of the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller's cord?

It's for my grandson, so I bought it. It measures approximately 6 feet in length. He moves his body in a circle. leaps to his feet in front of the Big-Screen Screen. That has plenty of room.

What does it mean when they say "third-party controller"?

Simply put, it means that the controller was not made at one of Microsoft's plants or by a company that is officially licensed to make their products.

Is there a problem with the controller?

If you can take care of a regular Xbox controller, this one is ideal; I use it frequently and it has never failed me. I highly recommend this controller because it is of excellent quality.

Except for the Achilles cord, this is an excellent controller in every way (except one) and is reasonably priced
4/5

Its tragic flaw is that it is easy to develop a loose connection between the cord and the controller, causing the controller to flicker on and off, interrupting games and other activities. I have purchased about five (5) of these over the years and they have all survived rough use by my three young children, except for the cord connection issue. Wrapping duct tape around the cord where it meets the controller (as shown) is one solution/prevention. This stiffens the cord and prevents it from overheating. The connection will be broken if you bend. I did this right out of the box on my most recent purchase, and it has worked flawlessly so far. free.

Review of the Afterglow Wired XBox 360 Controller Purchased to be used with a computer in order to play certain games, such as fighting games
5/5

br>I had my heart set on one of the Tron XBox360 controllers, but they were limited edition, sold out quickly, and are now ridiculously expensive, so I settled for this one. br>br>The controller has a substantial feel to it. The plastic is noticeably thicker than you might expect. All of the buttons were pleasant to the touch and operated smoothly. The analog sticks were comfortable to hold, and the D-pad was a welcome addition. The pad isn't great, but that's because it's based on the Microsoft XBox360 D-pad design. None of them feel as good as the Nintendo D-pad, at least not in the same way. pad. I have no plans to use it for FPSs, so I won't be able to tell you how the analog sticks work in those games. br>br>I plugged it into my computer (which is running Windows 7 Professional) and it was immediately recognized, with drivers installed automatically. There was no need for me to do any manual installation. The lighting is extremely bright. br>br> The controller is attractive, but you may become distracted when playing darker games in the dark. The light's setting button is hidden behind your ring finger on the back. It's not distracting, and you won't accidentally press it. br>br>Even if your computer is reset, the light settings are retained. If the lights are turned off, they will blink once when the computer reboots and is initialized, but they will remain turned off. You won't have to worry about turning off the lights every time you reboot your computer if you keep this plugged in all the time. br>br>Because I don't own an XBox360 or use the standard controller, I can't give you a detailed answer. In terms of how the start and back buttons feel in relation to that one, the ones on this one, with the exception of the back button, are in a comfortable position. Because of its location, pressing it necessitates reaching around the left analog stick, but this isn't a major inconvenience. The USB cable is quite long. br>br> Unless you had your computer hooked up to an HDTV and your controller plugged in a few feet away, it was likely longer than you would ever need for a computer. The cord measures ten feet in length. Some have compared the XBox Guide button to a standard controller, claiming that it is less expensive. looking. It's just a sticker on a button, and it's not bad in and of itself. If it were like the regular controllers, and the button was made of gleaming metal-- It would look better if it were made of plastic, but it isn't that bad. br>br>If you want a flashy controller for your XBox360/computer that is well-made, this is the controller for you. I can recommend this one if you want something built well and solid but don't want to pay the price of a Microsoft controller.

These aren't the same as the old afterglows, and there's a problem with the connection
3/5

I have two older Afterglow controllers, both of which are fantastic. I decided to add a third controller to my collection, so I purchased this one. Now that it's been a few years, the design has changed slightly. Despite the fact that this is still a wired-only controller, the wire now unplugs directly from the controller as well as the USB port, resulting in a poor connection that frequently disconnects in the middle of a game. Worse, because I'm gaming on a PC, it keeps getting redetected as controller 2 or 3. br>br>I'll say that the new joysticks are superior to the old ones. These don't have caps that fall off after a while. br>br>When the controller works, it works fine; however, the frequent disconnects are annoying.

USB cable is included
3/5

When it's connected, this controller works well. The wire is a removable USB cord, not attached to the controller; the problem is that the fit is extremely loose, and any jostling causes it to come loose. It's especially aggravating when playing fighting games because a split second disconnect can mean the difference between victory and defeat. br>br>When playing at a slow pace- It's less annoying in moving, single-player games where you can pause frequently due to a disconnect. However, I believe that any fast-paced competitive game would be extremely frustrating. br>br>The controller can be 'used' with duct tape (as shown in the image). Some people appear to have received the controller with the wire attached, in which case I'd recommend going ahead and doing so. It's a good idea to check with the seller first to make sure that's what you'll get.

This controller is fantastic
4/5

For the Xbox 360, this is my go-to controller. It looks very similar to a standard Microsoft controller, but it has a slightly different curve. This makes it a lot more comfortable to use for longer periods of time. The joysticks have a nice feel to them, and the buttons react quickly. One complaint is that the joystick coating wears off over time; I bought grip caps, but they just slid around and fell off. I ended up needing a new set of controllers (one was accidentally damaged, and the other was "dropped"), so I immediately put the caps on. The caps stay in place thanks to the rubbery material.

This is a really cool controller! Because his other controller had stopped working properly, I bought this for my brother as a Christmas present
4/5

He was ecstatic to get a new one, despite the fact that I discovered after I gave it to him that his broken one was of the same type. The issue with the other one was that the left thumbstick had stopped working properly, causing it to constantly change directions; my solution was to play games like Mortal Kombat, where it didn't matter which way you moved. Choosing a character, on the other hand, was extremely difficult. My other complaint is that I have small hands, and this controller is slightly larger than a standard Xbox controller, so reaching the "Select" and "Start" buttons, which are at the top of the controller rather than in the middle, was difficult for me. However, because the cord is so long, you can sit far away from the TV and still play. Even though the quality of the thumbsticks is questionable, I think this is a really cool controller.
