Obviously, the more Dorito dust you layer on this thing, especially around the analog sticks, the better call of duty games you'll become. Also, you should wash it off with a room-temperature Mountain Dew, but only that made with Gamer Fuel.
My order just arrived for the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows & Mac Directly from Amazon, you can purchase the "Xbox 360 Console". There was a USB receiver and two Duracell AA batteries included with the product. ** *br> If the item's name contains the phrase "for Windows", then it includes a receiver, otherwise it doesn't. While I am not sure if this is true for specific individuals in this instance, Amazon itself has been known to possess a mixture of counterfeit stock for certain items (e.g. MicroSDHC cards)*br>If you ordered one of these directly from Amazon and it did not come with a receiver or its packaging is different from the pictures of the customers (red box with grey plastic packaging inside) then Amazon will refund or replace it.
XInput games only, works only with 2006) The DirectInput API standard for game controllers was used by all PC games before 2006. As Microsoft implemented the XInput API for Xbox 360 in 2005, Windows also had to follow and adopt the new standard. However, the transition process for Windows has taken a long time DirectInput was still used in some Windows games from 2013 (e.g. Games that use DirectInput such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, BioShock Infinite) cannot use those controllers. The controllers may at times function but in a poor manner There are erratic, only partially functional, and insensitive or too sensitive controls. *br>I found out about It was only after I used an Xbox 360 controller to play BioWare's Jade Empire Special Edition, which was released on the PC in 2007, that I encountered the XInput problem. The DirectInput method was used by Jade Empire. There was only partial success with the controller I was having a problem with the left joystick (which controls movement) that kept moving by itself, so my character couldn't remain stationary D- (that controls the camera view) and the right joystick They did not have a pad (for abilities) A functional word. There were either very technical solutions that would need to be implemented precisely and fully or solutions that would need to incur additional costs (i.e. You can also use a profiler or gamepad emulator, which usually costs about It doesn't work with any of the free ones The best I could do (i.e. ) was difficult to use and/or was inconvenient. In order for a gamepad profiler to continue working, I had to unplug and replug in the controller every time I reloaded Jade Empire. They're not worth the trouble. It is the fact that Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows does not have a built-in DirectInput function that none of the other reviewers or fanboys have even bothered mentioning that is the biggest problem. There's no question it's not a great or perfect solution, but it certainly works. On the Logitech F310 for instance, the "D" (DirectInput) and "X" (XInput) methods are toggled via a physical switch behind the mouse. In most cases, you want to keep the switch on "X", but if you happen to encounter a DirectInput title, I would suggest switching As a developer or user, Microsoft expects you to comply with these requirements Microsoft has told everyone to quit using DirectInput and use XInput, so rather than provide users with a real solution, they need to simply stop playing the game. (That was the answer other people received when they contacted Microsoft to try to get a DirectInput solution. . )*br>If you know you will never touch anything old or vintage It may be able to work for you if you play an old game that still uses the old API standard, or if you play one of the odd new games that still does. You'll have to deal with a lot of frustration and inconvenience if you run into a game that uses DirectInput.

I think this is one of the best controllers for PC's that you can find, especially for this price range (you can easily take it apart to clean or replace the parts if you wear them This wired controller is more convenient than the wireless (which are all my PC peripherals) I do not have to replace batteries or recharge, deal with weak or delayed signals, it is a cheaper price, the cord is 10 feet long, and it has all the functionality I need. Instead of torx security screws, it uses Phillips screws (not like its wireless counterpart). I just replaced my 12 year old Xbox 360 controller with a new one (yes it lasted me that long & amp amp LOL), everything still works like new with the exception of the left analog, which has just begun A set of new analog sensors was ordered and is on its way If you plan to restore it (it requires soldering), don't forget to bring a tin can. It is strongly recommended that the D- be modified I would not recommend this pad since it is pretty bad already. I'm so mushy and it's so sweet It's a 3- If you are only going to use a game's PC for menu options, then it's okay, but if you're going to use a fighting game or anything requiring precision controls, it's terrible. An easy fix is to take apart the controller (uses standard Phillips screws) and cut out a plastic circle from a peanuts tin lid or Principles can lid, poke a hole in it, then put it back together. Replace the rubber pad under the rubber button membrane. Reassemble the unit and then attach it to the cord. That's it. This controller does everything else you expect of it, it's affordable, very functional, and does a great job A responsive controller, quality feel, and a smooth, seamless gameplay experience Prior to my previous one, it lasted 12 years without any problems.
There is a lot of squeaking coming from the left analog stick. In a way that's almost comical. This is never something I have heard of from OEM controllers I have owned in the past. seems to function normally so far, but it's so frustrating to use that it's almost unusable. EDIT
was only able to put it to moderate use over the past week, and now I need to return it. The controller appears to be official Microsoft software, but is it? NOTE (2) It took less than 2 days for the replacement to arrive. Exactly what I was looking for. Amazon is the best! Thanks for the great service.
Due to the OEM nature of this product, I was not only hoping for a good product, but expecting one as well. Though it looked fine, it did not properly work on PCs despite the fact that it was cosmetically perfect. It appeared that both joysticks had too much play, and neither one of them returned to center by itself. I don't think it will be too much There was usually enough space between it and the center of the screen that movement wasn't detected in most games. A big issue for me is how the left joystick is aligned. There is an apparent tilt of several degrees to the right of both axes (X and Y). As a result, my character runs just to the right when I push forward perfectly on the joystick. The computer registers that the joystick pointing to 12 o' clock points to about 2 o' clock when I push the joystick towards that time. As I pull backwards on it, I see the character comes backwards to the left (equating to 8 o'clock It did not work by calibrating it, and Microsoft's XBox Accessories App did not recognize it as an Xbox 360 The joystick is always off when you view the Windows calibration, as you can see from the screenshot. It registered right and down if I pressed right, if I pushed left, it registered left and up if I pushed left. This kind of game is pointless, so it is useless to try. Even if I tilted the controller left while playing games, the joystick might be usable but out of the box and no matter how many drivers I downloaded, USB ports I tried, I was unable to use this controller. Due to my negative experience with the Xbox One controller (one of the reasons I switched to this one) I am unlikely to consider Microsoft products in the future. Luckily I seem to be one of the few experiencing this issue, but it has made me wary enough to look for a replacement elsewhere.
Keyboard and mouse, with the keyboard sitting atop a pillow on my lap and my trackball mouse on the arm of the chair, were my tools. In this case, it was less than optimal, so I decided to use a controller instead. As a result, I haven't owned a console since the original Nintendo, instead opting for a PC. As a result, I had no idea what I would do with a new game pad and was unsure how I would use it. The fact that there is no cord to maintain is nice. As far as I can tell, I haven't experienced any connectivity problems. The gamepad goes to sleep when not in use to conserve battery life. I also find the vibration effect quite pleasing to the In the beginning, I wasn't sure about how I would like it, but it has been so much fun to play games while reclining in my chair without having to use a keyboard. It has been about a week since I have used it, so I cannot speak to battery life yet. I was pleasantly surprised.
At times, the computer would not turn on at all. The electronics in my home are treated really well, as well. The product was under warranty, so I decided to replace it. had been over 30 days since I purchased it, I was unable to replace it. In order to replace it, I had to go An electronic device with a 90-degree arc is supposed to work It was covered by a 30-day warranty, but Xbox support couldn't help me since I am not an Xbox owner. You usually have to link your Xbox service request to your account. Over the course of about 2 hours and 6 different reps, I spoke with Microsoft for nearly 2 hours and was sent to four different departments. I eventually got a representative who understood the situation. Microsoft Store is the only place to buy your Xbox 360 Controller for Windows. There is no comparison for the customer service experience I had with this company.
