They removed the gamecube slots, which was the only reason I bought this Wii in the first place.
I bought this for Christmas, and six months later it was completely dead. Purchasing a refurbished item may appear to be a better deal, but it will most likely die much sooner than it should. Additional protection can be purchased, but in my experience, getting the site to honor these plans is inconsistent and risky. Based on my previous experience, I will not purchase refurbished items from this company again.
A quick word of caution: It comes with one controller and one Nunchuck (which I don't mind at all). I play these games alone because I am a lone wolf. There are plenty of good options on Amazon if you need a second controller set. It came in a plain brown box rather than the Nintendo-branded packaging (which was not an issue for me). They're being discovered! Voomwa deserves a huge thank you for making all of this possible for Wii fans! If you still have your Wii games but no way to play them because you don't have a working console. Get back into the game by purchasing one of these Voomwa units.
I've gone through every step of the troubleshooting process, but it still won't turn on. The photos depict what the product is supposed to look like rather than what I received.
So far, everything has gone well. My only gripe is that the infrared bar was zip tied so tightly that it was nearly impossible to remove. The cord on the infrared bar is the size of angel hair pasta, according to every Wii gamer. I attempted to pull the cord a little further out. He was adamant in his refusal to move. It was so tightly bundled that cutting it off was the only way to use it. I attempted to insert the scissors with care. No room. So I decided to simply cut the zip tie's head off. While attempting to remove the zip tie, I accidentally severed half of the cord, rendering it useless. Apart from the system being a little dusty in general, everything else appears to be in good working order. So far, the system appears to be functioning properly. I was unable to continue due to the lack of an infrared bar.
I purchased this refurbished Wii for my 23-year-old daughter, who enjoys Guitar Hero and has expressed how much she misses it since her console stopped working. br>br>Because I live in Guyana, it took a week for my freight forwarder to deliver my shipment, and when it did, the console and remote were not working. I contacted Amazon, and they were able to get a replacement from the supplier almost immediately. My only disappointment is that I will have to pay for a second shipment to Guyana as well as a return shipment to the supplier. br>br>The new console is up and running, and my daughter is back to playing Guitar Hero.
After some deliberation, I decided to purchase one to determine its quality. It arrived in its original box, with all cords and accessories in plastic, and the console appears to be brand new. There were no scratches or signs of wear on the surface that I could find. It also works great! I'm glad I went ahead and bought. This book comes highly recommended.
