The centering spring on the XBOX wheel is broken
3/5

The XBOX version of the wheel has an inherent flaw. I compared two brand new wheels, neither of which properly zero (return to center) when letting go of the wheel, to the Playstation Version of the same Wheel, which does so to a minor degree. There is a video attached.

However, it's a fantastic wheel
3/5

First and foremost, I'd like to state that I'll be updating this over time; the current date is March 31, 2021. Also, I'd give it 5 stars if you didn't have to buy two identical wheels if you wanted to use a wheel on the xbox/playstation. Because the hardware is identical down to the last screw, there's no reason why this wouldn't work on both. Apart from the software flag that says no, this won't work on the other console, the only difference is the button labels. br>br>Ok, so the wheel, like previous Logitech wheels, uses a system of gears and rumble motors to provide steering feedback as well as the sensation of bumps and other objects. The ONLY thing new (aside from a better brake pedal) is a spinning disc that tries to replicate the sensation of a car's engine revving and a few other minor sensations you might have while behind the wheel. br>br>It basically uses the game's audio for this, and it's a pretty convincing system, but the game must explicitly support the feature, which most don't. Even games on Logitech's website that are on the supported list don't always have the feature, which is because it was supposed to be added to these games but wasn't, and Logitech never updates the list on the main website or the support website. br>br>The problem with that is they are charging $50 to $100 more for this wheel than the g920, which is otherwise the same force feedback system minus the above mentioned aspect. When it comes to consoles, br>br> This game is available for both the Xbox and the Playstation. The labels on the buttons are the only thing that distinguishes them. Oh, and there's a small software flag that tells the console that the wheel shouldn't be used. As a dual-console owner, it irritates me greatly that my $400 wheel will not work on my Playstation for no apparent reason. Those quibbles aside, I enjoy driving the wheel. I was switching from a G27 that I had mounted to a Playsets Evolution 3 chair/mounting system. Because all of the mounting hardware is the same, mixing and matching pedals, shifters, and ebrakes was a breeze. Everything worked right out of the box, but I recommend doing some internet searching to find the best FFB (force feedback) settings for a game (they vary by game) and then dialing it in to the best feeling for your personal taste. It's simple to do, and once you've done it for a few games, you can pretty much setup any game without needing to search for settings unless the game is giving you a hard time. br>br>To summarize, this is another good quality NES Even the brand new Dirt 5 doesn't work with it, and Codemasters had by far the most games on the list. Unfortunately, most of the promised games did not receive said support. br>br>If this is your first wheel, allow yourself time to adjust; you will most likely perform significantly worse than you did with a controller at first, but with a few hours of practice and a good night's sleep, you will find yourself posting better laptimes and requiring fewer assists such as ABS and TCS. TCM is used in video games.

High-quality construction - Forza Horizon 4 is in a bad way
3/5

The wheel appears to be of good quality, and it was simple to put together. br>br>In Forza Horizon 4, the controls are terrible. I couldn't get close to the playability of a basic 360 controller, despite scouring the internet for wheel settings. With uncontrollable steering swings, driving was a nightmare.

The best sub-$500 plug-and-play steering wheel
5/5

The build quality and performance of this steering wheel / pedal combination wowed me. Force feedback works well in almost all racing games and simulations. The pedals are comfortable right out of the box, but the break tension may need to be adjusted because it is a little stiff. The pedals seem to stick well with the rubber feet from heavy use on a tile floor beneath my desk, but if you are overly aggressive, you may need to place them on a rubber mat. The new RPM idicator is great for supported games. I'd give this purchase a 9/10 if it weren't for the fact that the pedals could have used a few more rubber feet. They could adjust for the steering wheel pitch as it is fixed, so your desk height will have to be perfect or you will need to adjust your chair or get a proper mounting setup. You can mount this setup to just about anything, including all racing sim setups. It integrates seamlessly with the Logitech app and updates itself. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and it's the best budget wheel for racing/simulation.

For FM7, Dirt, or F1 (not so much for FH4), this is a good wheel/pedal
4/5

Though I've used others such as Fanatec, Thrustmaster, and the previous model G920, this is my first Xbox wheel. br>br>Overall, the build quality and functionality of this wheel and pedal setup have impressed me. It's simple to get up and running right out of the box, but set aside a few days to fine-tune the game's settings. Advantages: br>br> Solid construction, high-quality look and feelbr>Easy setup right out of the boxbr>Strong force feedbackbr>Decent pedal feelbr>Vibration for added 'feel' over road and surfaces is a nice touchbr>br>Cons: br>Loud as hell (playing late at night will wake the house)br>Wheel can jerk when the gears slip (it's not a belt drive)br>Many buttons aren't assignable on Xboxbr>Shift lights don't work with Xboxbr>Takes a long time to get settings set and has to be done for each game individuallybr>.

Unlike other wheels, this one provides much more consistent feedback
5/5

I'm glad I waited so long for this to come out, and lucky for me, it was on sale on Amazon rather than on the Logitech website. It's worth it when compared to other wheels I've had in the past, and I tried out an older version of this wheel at Best Buy once, and it definitely feels much different, and the feedback can be adjusted to be strong or not so strong, although the feedback is smooth and not like the motor feeling from previous older wheels. I hope this information is useful to you.

The brake pedal is a little stiff, but everything else is fine
4/5

I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first purchase of this type of product, but I'm happy with it overall. It was easy to set up and worked well with my computer. So far, I've only tried it out on ATS, but I'm sure I'll be buying more driving/racing games in the future. br>The only problem I have is with the brake pedal. It's so stiff that I have to lean all of my weight against it just to get it to register that I'm attempting to brake. Even my husband (who is at least twice my size and is built like a tank) had trouble with the pedal. I was able to remap the controls so that the clutch was used instead of the brake, and everything worked out fine. Some people claim that you can disassemble it and swap the clutch and brake springs. I'm probably going to try that if I get really bored. However, for the time being, everything appears to be in order.
