As a matter of fact, this makes a significant difference in the flying experience and is well worth the purchase. In my opinion, the biggest flaw has to be the R3 button since it makes it nearly impossible to use the joystick in its intended position because it blocks your view. The stick is held in this way so that you constantly press this button in any direction where a light turn is possible. In Ace Combat 7, this is the weapon select button, which is extremely challenging to use unless you gradually get used to holding the joystick in a very uncomfortable manner. Although the stick is still worth the purchase, be prepared to adjust your idea of how it should be held so that it will not affect the gameplay of whatever game you use it for. The only way you can move the flight stick's buttons is by working around it or in a workaround software. Ace Combat 7 does not allow you to assign different functions to the flight stick's buttons, so there is no alternative to using a workaround to continue playing the game.

In other words, all of the negative reviews about the squeeky or plastic-like sounds are accurate. I managed to fit in about 4 hours of gameplay on my first day. It was incredibly annoying every time I pressed down on the stick. It squeaked in fine movements and you could even feel it. Though I'd love to get a better HOTAS, this is the only one available for the PS4, and it's a shame that thrustmaster didn't make it nicer since it's the only one. I think the buttons are not the best quality, but I'm being picky and I did expect it to be cheap plastic. In addition to the squeak and cheap plastic, the buttons are not the best quality. I was about to send it back due to it squeaking, but after disassembling the device multiple times, I was able to fix it. While I would not recommend buying it, if you play on the PS4 then you don't have any other choice and it does significantly boost the fun factor of playing Elite Dangerous. I've got the fix! In case you decide to get it, I would also buy silicone lube, which I used for breaking, as well as First, I removed the top dust guard and applied silicone lube to the ball joint that did little or nothing. Actually, it may have made things The lubrication will need to be reapplied periodically and I suspect it won't last forever, but at least it isn't making noise and it is smooth as silk now. I really wish there were more hotas that worked with the PS4, although this is the only one that works. It's a lot more fun and intuitive with a hotas off, especially on short flights. This is sad a company like Thustmaster makes a product like this. Being the only one for the PS4, they should have made it much better. I would have been glad to pay twice as much for a nice hotas instead. As long as I cannot get my friends to play this on PC, I'm stuck with this piece of crap.

The only way I could give this product zero stars is by not giving it any. Starting from the beginning would be a good idea. The first Ace Combat game I bought last year was Ace Combat. Having a great time with the game and absolutely loving it, I wanted to enhance my multiplayer experience online. Therefore, which product seems to be the best? All the ones that are endorsed by the game! Not at all! When I got the stick in the mail, I was eager to use it, and at first it worked great, but less than a week later it started making my aircraft roll to the right for no apparent Due to odd things happening and the fact that I liked the flight stick, I just ordered a replacement. I then get the next one and it does the EXACT SAME thing. I am pretty annoyed with my phone now and have tried to contact the manufacturer over a two week period of trying to resolve the issue with no success. I take my THIRD replacement and it does exactly the same thing as my second replacement. So I just take my THIRD replacement and tell them that I'm extremely unlucky to've gotten two defective products replaced. As a result, I stopped trying. The item has been returned to me, and I'm completely over collect and care for classic gaming consoles and I keep them in mint condition, so it's not my fault or anything I did to the controller. I have all my controllers brand new, and they are all in mint condition. I found the whole process with this controller to be I urge you not to buy this giant aft stick for your own sake. There is no value in it.
