They do fit on top of the pen and add a welcome splash of color to the otherwise monochrome Apple pen. They're a good back-up if you lose your cap. The magnetic caps, however, are my preference. I'm a huge fan of the satisfying click sound! Instead, I went with a magnetic replacement from another company because it included a rubber protector to keep the cap from falling off when removed. I'll definitely use these as a backup if I lose the magnetic cap (which I fear is inevitable given how much I travel). If these cakes had a way to secure the cap to the pen (as many other non-mechanical pens do), they would be perfect. Apple caps do), and I'd choose this option over others simply because it adds color. Unfortunately, I'll need somewhere to put the cap when I'm writing with the pen. This isn't an option because I'll lose it again if I don't do it! br>br>Another point to consider. It costs $100 to buy an Apple pen. Replacements are available from Apple, but they cost $10 and require a Genius Bar appointment. Making an appointment is so inconvenient and unnecessary. They should simply sell replacement caps for a reasonable price (not a tenth of the pen's price, but somewhere around 3-5% of the pen's price). $5 or $10 if you buy three). This nonsense has irritated me greatly, and I'm fuming at Apple!.
As a result, when I first got them, I was perplexed and concerned about how tightly they would fit on the pencil. I quickly realized, however, that they were a perfect fit and slid on smoothly but securely enough that I didn't have to worry about holding the entire pencil by the cap, which I would not have dared to do with the original magnetic cap. br>br>Even though I eventually found the original cap for my pencil, I keep it in the cute bottle package it came in with the other three colors because I adore them! It is impossible to overestimate the value of this book. The package bottle resembles a strange cross between a mason jar and an alchemy/chemistry vial, which could be a real thing with a name that I'm just not aware of. They're made of a rubbery material that doesn't quite match the original, but I don't have any complaints. It protects the top of the pen and doesn't appear to have any problems doing so. I suppose if you apply enough force to the end, the charger port will snap off, but I believe that could have happened with the original cap as well. It took some time to adjust, but I'm no longer aware of it.
If Apple keeps making first-generation pencils, they should become the standard. br>br>Pros.

These flexible silicon pen caps are fine; they have a good grip on the pen and don't fall off easily. I ordered these after losing my original magnetic cap, and within 10 minutes of opening the package, I found it, so these may have unadvertised magical powers to locate your original cap upon arrival. You might get different results.
The product arrived quickly and in a variety of colors. However, after a few months of use, the cap became loose and I was afraid it would fall off, but I simply switched to a different color and it's back to being perfect!.
These are far superior to Apple's original magnetic cap in terms of performance. I was constantly misplacing the original cap. over and over again, but these caps are secure and stay put.
I finally gave in and purchased these, and they're fantastic! It clings to the wall and refuses to come out!.
