I was hesitant to purchase off-brand controllers, but after hearing about Covid and the outrageous price gouging, I decided to go ahead and do so. br>I'm glad I did. The only downside is that because of the added contour, they won't fit into the various accessories for snapping controllers into. However, they can stay connected to the screen while docked, which is awesome, and I think they're more comfortable all around. br>They work great! There has never been a connection issue, and they may be more durable than the brand name, which frequently has tracking issues, even when properly cared for.
function with a disadvantage I got these in the middle of the year. March, and now, only two to three weeks later, the left joy-stick is malfunctioning. The con has already ceased to function. Because I have the clear ones, I can see that the joy-stick is on the left. The convention is no longer alive. It does not turn on when it is connected to the Switch or when it is disconnected. So just know that these look fantastic and are quite incredible. While they are actually in use. Your mileage may vary, but if you're thinking about buying these, I'd be cautious. Previously reviewed: br>br> These are fantastic! br> I got the transparent ones, which look great on my Switch, fit snugly (unlike the official ones, which slide on/off more easily but feel shaky when connected), and have a curved back that makes them more comfortable to hold than official joy-cons. cons. They're a lot less expensive than official joy-sticks, so they're a good deal. I can't say enough about how much I like these!.
Update: My replacement pair's right joy con isn't working. They suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. They will not charge, will not reset, and will not turn on. I'm going to come back. There will be no more for me. When my OEM joycons began to drift badly, I purchased these controllers. I bought these so I could keep playing while my originals were being repaired by Nintendo (which, by the way, you can get fixed for free if they're the ones that came with your system). I didn't want to pay for another pair of official Nintendo controllers because, despite their high price, their controllers clearly have issues. br>br>After reading all the reviews, these controllers already seemed hit or miss, but I figured I'd take a chance just to save money. Also appealing were the various colors and the more ergonomic design. br>br>Unfortunately, I had to replace my first set of clear joy cons with a new set. br>br>When I first got my joy cons, everything seemed great- There was no drift, the pairings were perfect, and the battery was fully charged. However, after a few uses, I noticed that one of the joy cons was not able to keep its charge. As a result, when I played it on the go, the joycons drained my system's battery. I couldn't see myself keeping those controllers, so I swapped them out for a different set. br>br>The exchanged pair appears to be working properly, but it's possible that it's too early to tell. If that changes, I'll make a note of it in this review. br>br>Once you have a working pair, the controllers are quite good- They do what they're supposed to do, but the buttons are a little stiff. In addition, there is an odd gap between the directional sticks and the housing. Dust will most likely accumulate there over time, causing problems with the controller's overall performance. The ergonomic design is excellent, and it is far more comfortable to use than the OEM versions. However, due to the change in design, they are no longer compatible with OEM mounting accessories. br>br>Overall, it's pretty much what you'd expect from a generic controller- excellent value for money.
Overall, they feel pretty good. Battery is not an issue. When I first started playing SSBU, I noticed that some of the buttons were a little sharp, but this improved over time, either because my thumb got used to it or because the sharpness was reduced. br>br>While playing some games, I've noticed some minor issues with the direction input that are misinterpreted. It is not a constant problem, and being a little more deliberate in my direction solves the problems. br>br>Some have mentioned the drifting problem, which has happened a few times. However, after charging the switch and controllers, the problem was no longer present. That isn't an excuse not to purchase these.
I bought the grey joy cons as extras for friends to play with; the buttons and motion functions worked well for the price, but they are nearly half the price of Nintendo's official controllers. The joy cons are easy to attach to the Switch console, but putting on and taking off the strap with the L and R buttons feels like a battle, as if I'm about to break something. Because the joy cons won't fit on the controller pad if you want to use them as a single controller, you'll have to play with one in each hand. The battery life appears to be half as long (officially, the battery lasts 20 hours). It's a good buy if you just need a few extra controllers for when guests come over, but I wouldn't use it as a regular replacement.
I'm not sure why neither joy con was dropped or handled roughly, so they stopped working so quickly.
