The volume wheel on the first one didn't work properly, so I had to send it back. The lowest volume setting was audible, while the highest volume setting was extremely audible. Fortunately, the replacement arrived and performed flawlessly. The sound was muffled when the volume was turned all the way down. Yay! br>br>These are entertaining for children; my eight-year-old enjoyed playing the various games; however, we were unable to locate any headsets that would fit the port; if you were planning on using your phone headset, forget it. br>br>As for me, the screen is far too small for my middle-aged eyes, and I'm not even wearing glasses. Despite this, I gave it four stars because the child appeared to enjoy it. I was so taken with seeing the old games that I'm thinking about hooking it up to our Nintendo's old TV. If you can't decide between this and the yellow one with only 400 games, go with this one. It's a little better on the screen now.

This was fantastic at first, but after only a week, it began to malfunction. The volume does not stay low or go silent, and two of the players have now stopped working. We tried charging it, but it still didn't work properly. I really like it, but I wish it worked the way it was supposed to. The best thing about it is the battery life, the game selection is ideal, and I enjoy the old school selection. After doing so much research and trying to find the best one, I'm just disappointed.

I had already purchased one of these, but I decided to purchase a few more. I wasn't expecting much of a difference between the 400 and 500 games, but the 500 is much better! My younger child enjoys a variety of other games, such as Tiny Toons Adventures. This version also includes four languages, which I find to be quite impressive. They've proven to be durable, and the battery lasts a long time, which is convenient for road trips. The second remote is excellent for two-player games. It's a great way to spend an evening with the family.
