In my mother's basement, I discovered an old stash of NES boxes. I thought they'd vanished from the face of the earth, but they're back! I needed some plastic cases to keep them safe and display them on a shelf, and this product fit the bill perfectly; even the squashed boxes look great in the case. They do require some assembly, and each one includes a plastic sheet that must be removed, but once assembled, they are fantastic. I also purchased a second set of N64 cases.
I have games (CIB) that I've had for 30 years, and these cases are ideal. Some of them are still wrapped in their original plastic, so they're in good shape. Others, such as CastleVania and Zelda, have significant wear and tear. I'm not a collector per se, but over the years, I've amassed a 250-item collection. These cases are of excellent quality, and I am very happy with them. To protect the cases, they are flattened and wrapped in layers of plastic wrap. The wrap is peeled off and the case's seams are adjusted. These are essential if you have old NES games that you want to keep, and I wish they were available 20 years ago.
I'd never used these before, but I needed to protect my Nintendo Entertainment System. Folding into place is a breeze. The box fits snugly and won't slide around in the event of an accident. It will protect against scratches but not from damage, and dust will be able to get inside unless it is tightly taped. Although I intend to purchase acrylic cases, which are significantly more expensive, these will suffice temporarily or if you simply do not wish to spend the money on acrylic cases.
These boxes do an excellent job of protecting my NES collection. Some people have complained about the extra work of peeling off the plastic and folding the boxes, but I find that part of the process to be the most enjoyable. I enjoy folding them because it is important for a collector to preserve not only video games but all of his or her valuables. To preserve the things you care about, you must put in the effort to keep them looking nice, in my opinion. br>br>To put it another way, I adore these protectors and can't wait to get my hands on more. Especially the SNES, N64, and other consoles. br>br>I'm hoping Malko will make protectors for Sega games like the Master System, Genesis, CD, 32X, Saturn, and even Dreamcast in the future, but if they can't right now, that's fine because I'll still be getting more NES/SNES boxes in the future. Thank you once more for the boxes, and in Mario's immortal words, "Thank you so much for-" I'm having a good time with my game!.
These are fantastic for the NES, as they fit perfectly and are simple to put together. br>br>I've also discovered that they work with late Sega Genesis games, though they're a tight fit. Late in the Genesis' lifespan, Sega began using paper boxes.
It fits like a glove, but not so snugly that it compromises the game's performance. They work on both my sealed (still shrink wrapped, never opened) and unsealed games. br>br>There is a very small amount of space that I think is perfect. br>br> These are fantastic and I plan to purchase more. The key is to purchase Malko brand cases; other cases will receive poor reviews because they are made in China and are significantly less expensive. br>br>They arrive flat and must be folded at the creases to form the box. It's that easy. They're made of a hard, rigid plastic that can be bent. If you're a collector, this is the place to be.
Although most of my NES boxes aren't in perfect condition, they do provide the extra support they require for display.
Everything went smoothly. I had no trouble gently folding them into shape. It looks fantastic on you. Will purchase additional items.
