Melissa & Doug Animals Wooden Peg Puzzles Set - Farm, Pets, and Ocean

As an Easter gift for my daughter, I got her this puzzle set. While this is not exactly a "great deal," it is acceptable- It is a simple truth that what you pay for is what you get. They are a kind of hybrid between traditional cardboard puzzles and wooden puzzles, with the base made of thin, layered wood and the illustration on top of cardboard. Only opened them a couple of minutes ago and played gently. Already the cardboard top is chipping white at the edges. I would have skipped it, had I seen these in the store before buying, and instead spend a little more money on a nice, solid wood, painted wooden puzzle. The following is my most recent update (I originally reviewed these in March 2015 and gave them 3 stars) I was concerned that they might wear out during their first use, but these have held up well and seem much more durable than I anticipated. Having rethought these puzzles, I have changed my opinion. Still to this day, my daughter loves them and plays with them almost every single She loves pretend playing with the animals now that she's older. She makes them "talk" with their appropriate sounds, feed them, sleep them, etc. , almost like playing with figurines or paper dolls. served both me well in durability as well as entertainment, so I'd say it was a good deal. they're not wooden puzzles, but we love them anyway. It is my hope that my previous comments are still helpful regarding knowing what the materials are, but fear not, they have not peeled or chipped noticeably more, which is pretty amazing for puzzles that have lasted through toddlerhood so far.

The price of the toy is overpriced for the quality of wood that you receive in comparison to other Melissa and Doug products. I plan to keep my purchase because I hate returning merchandise. I am very disappointed!.

The best thing about puzzles is solving them. That was what you would expect, and I have also attached some photos of the stands I got. A review on Amazon complained about a certain type of M&S The stands do not fit the D puzzles. There are different types of puzzle boards available in various sizes on the racks. Although the images peel off if the puzzles are wet, the puzzles themselves are of good quality. This is why you cannot wash or mouth the toy if you desire to keep the image. It's especially nice that there is a picture of the animal in the empty space so that my toddler can learn how to match the pieces to the right slots. I am a speech therapist, so finding puzzles like this are a real gift. The colorful animals are easy to assemble and the pieces are pretty easy to put together. To make it easier to take the pieces off and put them back on, they have tiny knobs on the puzzle to help. Kids of all ages are hooked on these puzzles they can't get enough of them. Fun and effective, they can be done in just a few minutes. It is good to have puzzles of such high quality. This wood is strong and not flimsy at all. It seems that these are lasting quite well and I use them daily. There is only one drawback to these puzzles they are a bit pricey. However, they are still a great acquisition!.
