Questions & Answers

What do all the dinosaurs' names mean?

The following is my best guess for the species: Pteradon (teal), Tyrannosaurus Rex (purple), Stegosaurus (yellow), Ankylosaurus or Euoplocephalus (orange), Brachiosaurus (light blue), and Triceratops (red-brown). Parasaurolophus (orange), and orange (parasaurolophus). If you're trying to stop your two-year-old from correcting you, I wish you luck.

What is the name of the blue horned animal? I'm embarrassed, but I'm determined to teach my son the proper name. ?

A rhinosaurus is the blue animal. It's crucial to understand these massive land animals because they're on the verge of extinction. Enjoy your puzzle and remember to think of the rhinos in a positive way!

Is it possible that the animals were hand painted or that they were stickers?

I've had these kinds of puzzles for a long time. Some from at least 15 years ago were still in my possession. It's impossible for me to tell if they're stickers with a layer of lacquer on top or if they're painted on. I can only say that they have never peeled or appeared to be worn. These puzzles are of excellent quality, and I can vouch for the fact that they will last a long time. I hope this has been of assistance to you.

What country did it come from?

It's made in China, as is typical of most low-cost toys. I can say, however, that there were no toxic odors, and the blocks and boards did not appear to have any strange residue on them. I've had these for over a year (since the twins were about 2), they love them and use them frequently, and there are no flaws that I can see. Painting blocks make up my sets. I hope this has been of assistance.

Toddlers will love it! I've been on the lookout for some good toddler puzzles
5/5

I am a developmental specialist who works with special needs infants and toddlers. I look for simple puzzles with pieces that toddlers can easily grasp. Melissa has always been one of my favorite people. Doug puzzles are popular among children because they are consistently well-made and age-appropriate. I'm looking for puzzles that are durable and last a long time. They have to be able to take a beating because I throw them in bags and put them in my trunk. br>br>I was overjoyed when I received this puzzle. Here are some of my favorite aspects of this puzzle and how it can be used with toddlers: - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br The colors in the puzzle are vibrant. This is particularly useful for retaining the attention of young children. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br When you take the puzzle piece out, you'll notice that it has the same image underneath it. Toddlers will have an easier time figuring out where the piece should go. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br Because the pieces are thick and chunky, small, uncoordinated hands can get them in and out even without the little knobs on top. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br There is no raw wood showing on the entire puzzle piece because it has been painted. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br The colors of the animals are true to life. I have far too many puzzles and children's books with animals in a rainbow of colors. It's critical at this age for the animals to be as realistic as possible. The colors of the animals in this puzzle are the same as they would be in real life (pig is pink, sheep is white, and so on). br>br>I've been using it a lot lately, and the kids seem to enjoy it. I can use it to improve not only my fine motor skills, but also my cognitive skills, such as matching the animals, and my language skills, such as learning animal sounds, names, and colors. With very young children and those who have delays, there is so much I can do with this puzzle.

This isn't going to hold up

Paint wears away over time. We've had this puzzle for a little more than three months, and the paint is beginning to peel away. I like these puzzles; we have a few, and my two-year-old enjoys playing with the pieces both inside and outside the puzzle board; however, I'm disappointed that the paint is chipping; it will scratch off with the slightest scrape of my fingernail, and I believe this is of poor quality.

M's puzzles are superior to those of others
5/5

My son told me he wanted this puzzle while I was online shopping with him. I was concerned because I'd recently received a M puzzle that was very similar to this one. D that didn't work because the color was added by gluing on paper rather than using paint. It's the house with all of the different shapes. However, the one with the tractors is, thankfully, painted on. Because my son is still having difficulty with these puzzles, it's helpful to have the images in the slots match the pieces exactly. He loves that they're trucks and an excavator, and the pieces are thick enough that he can stand them up and use them as small toy cars, which my son loved.

The Melissa and Doug Safari Animals one is fantastic because it has bright colors and pieces that are easy to put together
5/5

My 18-month-old son now has a number of these puzzles. The Melissa and Doug Safari Animals one is particularly appealing because it features vibrant colors and pieces that are just the right size for small toddler hands. My son uses these on a regular basis, and the paint hasn't chipped or the wood hasn't splintered yet. These appear to be a hit with my son, and I would recommend them to anyone.

A toy that will last a long time
5/5

I got this puzzle on a lightning deal, so the price was ideal, and I'd been eyeing this series of puzzles for a while, so I was overjoyed to see it featured! I debated between peg puzzles and chunky puzzles, but in the end, I chose the chunky for several reasons:
- The thicker pieces, though more expensive, can withstand more punishment. br>- Because the pieces are thick enough to stand alone, they can also be used as wooden "imaginary play" pieces (we use them with blocks). br>- Little hands can grab onto thicker pieces more easily. instead of grasping the teeny-tiny pegs I'm aware that Melissa and Doug sells puzzles with large knobs, but I figured that my son would outgrow them too quickly, and that this way I'd get the most bang for my buck. br>br>I adore the farm animals' bright colors and happy faces, as well as the fact that the pieces are just the right weight. Unlike some of the other Melissa and Doug toys, these don't appear to have a sticker on the front that can be peeled off (or sucked off, since everything goes into the mouth at this age). The painted and smooth edges of the pieces are a nice touch. I like that they can be used by people of all ages. br>br>In terms of age, I like that they can be used by people of all ages. I bought these for my son when he was 9 months old, so he was obviously too young to put them together. He just took the pieces out of their places at first, but now that he's 11 months old, we go over everything and practice animal sounds. He'll be able to complete the puzzle on his own in time. (Note: I'm aware that this product is best used by children aged 2 and up. As a parent, use your judgment to make the best decision for your child. ).

The child is enamored, but his mother is concerned
3/5

It was a hit with my 8-month-old, and she still enjoys it now that she is ten months old. But, as is common with children who carry sippy cups around, the puzzle piece became wet and cracked, flaking away. I've included some images for you to look at. Although the alligator/crocodile is the only one who has done this, I'm concerned that the paint on it is flaking and that this could happen to others. I couldn't find any information about the materials used to make the puzzle on their or this site, so I'm not sure if it's non-toxic. toxic.

It is a big hit with my toddler
5/5

My toddler was introduced to this puzzle by his Speech Therapist, and after just a few uses, he had made it his favorite part of therapy. It is used by our therapist to encourage the younger children to imitate sounds or match a sound to a piece of music. We'll have to buy our own because he enjoys it so much. br>br>.
