The cupcake wrappers are made of ordinary paper that is easily ripped. able. The plastic frosting tops on the cupcakes are extremely tight, requiring me or my husband to constantly take them on and off for our daughter. We're afraid to let our daughter play with the markers anywhere other than at our big craft table because the markers don't say they're washable anywhere on the packaging. Last but not least. the dreaded candles They're not going to stick! Not in the least! These cupcakes are just so poorly made, which is too bad because they could be such a fun toy! The velcro on the bottom of the candles barely holds, so the candles are constantly wobbling to the side. We're not going to ignore them, so we're going to get our own velcro for the candles, more cupcake wrappers, and score the undersides of the frosting pieces to make them easier to put on and take off. By this point, I should've just made my own toys!.
It was a cute concept, but it didn't work out. We have a lot of Melissa and Doug products in our house, so I didn't hesitate to buy these. The paint on the cupcakes (which were used to make two chocolate and two vanilla) had chipped! Thankfully, it's hidden beneath the "frosting" cover, but it's still the first time we've had a chipped set: The candles, on the other hand, are my second gripe. They're nothing but a farce. They don't stand up straight and cling to the cupcake with velcro (both the cupcake and the candle have velcro). Finally, the cupcake liners appear to be genuine cupcake liners but have a cheap feel to them. They flattened out within seconds of being played, and they appear to be too large to fit the cupcake. This is a set I would not buy again. It is not something I would suggest.
My daughter got my mother a kitchen set for Christmas this year and wanted to get her some cupcakes because they are her absolute favorite thing in the entire universe. After looking at dozens of different websites, I decided to go with Melissa. My daughter gave my mother a kitchen set for Christmas this year and wanted to get her some cupcakes because they are her absolute favorite thing in the entire world. After looking at dozens of different websites, I decided to go with Melissa and Doug because, after all, how can you go wrong with Melissa and Doug? I'm so glad I stumbled upon these adorable cupcakes. They provide endless hours of entertainment and can be used to make new little creations and icing toppings over and over again. They're made entirely of wood and are extremely durable and enjoyable to use. My daughter adores the baking sheet and little gloves, which make her feel very grown up. She enjoys blowing out the candles after putting them on and having everyone sing happy birthday before we eat the cupcakes. This is an absolute must-have for any tiny chef! BUY IT! You won't be disappointed! Another triumph for this incredible firm!.
My three-year-old daughter has been enamored with these for the past few days! I was taken aback by how enthusiastic she is about them. I bought them primarily to use as an oven in her play kitchen, but she has had a lot of fun decorating them. I wouldn't pay $20 for them, but if you can find them for less, they're a great deal! As other reviewers have stated, the candles are a pain to stick in.
First and foremost, my children adore playing with these! All three of my children, ages seven, two, and one, love baking cupcakes for me! However, there are three aspects of them that I dislike:
1. Within two days, the paint on the cupcakes began to peel away. I had hoped for something a little more long-lasting.
2. I'm not a fan of the frosting markers you use. They're meant to go on the frosting, not the wooden cupcakes. what is the reason? It wipes off the frosting with ease, but not so much the cupcake part. What is the disadvantage of this? It's far too easy to wipe off - As in, anything that comes into contact with it causes it to fall off! As a result, there is marker all over the place! This wouldn't be a problem if these were being used by older children or children who were much more cautious than mine, but since these are for the younger crowd, it's a disaster. We don't use the markers very often, to be honest!
3. The paper cupcake holders are a waste of money! They're clearly made of paper and won't last very long. This was something I was aware of. They met my expectations for about two or three days before I pitched them. It would have been much better if it had been a little more durable. Overall, the kids continue to enjoy them, and I'm glad I purchased them. I would, however, look for something different if I were to buy something similar again.
