This is not recommended for children under the age of three because it poses a choking hazard. I would not recommend it for children under the age of five. The tile art is made up of a lot of very small pieces, some of which are less than a quarter in size. This was purchased for our 10-month-old son to use; without having read the cautionary statement He was able to pry these small parts (walrus tail, ship, etc. ) from the walrus and place them in his mouth. Fortunately, I was nearby and was able to snare them. br>br>The mat is of excellent quality. However, DO NOT buy this for babies, and I'm not a big fan of the small parts, so if you don't want to be constantly putting this back together, opt for the alphabet foam mats or something simpler. Liquids also get into all of the small parts, making cleanup a chore. Another reason to get a solid mat or an alphabet mat is that they are more durable.
Right out of the bag, I fell in love with these foam mats. I knew they'd be a hit with my 2-year-old daughter when I set them up! When she saw them, she squealed with delight and sat down to play with them. They're bright and colorful, and they'll look great in her playroom. To cushion a fall, the material is sturdy but soft. They'll be a breeze to clean up. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the following: I knew the small shapes in the middle could be removed, and my daughter was eager to do so. What I didn't realize was that those shapes are made up of a million different pieces! It's incredibly inconvenient because every time my daughter plays, she disassembles the countless pieces, and I'm the one who has to reassemble them. When I sat there for 20 minutes attempting to reassemble them, I felt like a complete moron! It was impossible to figure out where some of them went because of their unusual shapes. Instead of 5 pieces per shape, I wish the shapes came up in one piece. That's over 50 foam mats to keep track of!.
When our 6-month-old was crawling, we bought this product to set up a play area for him. It arrived quickly and appeared to be exactly as shown in the picture, but the individual mats are not solid. They're more akin to jigsaw puzzles than anything else. The mat is made up of a variety of shapes, some of which are small enough to choke on. They are easily removed from the mat. We were concerned about the size of some of the pieces because our baby, like many others, was putting everything in his or her mouth. The necessity of adding mat edges; which you'll have to buy separately; further complicates the situation. br>br>The mats were attractive, and we would have kept them if they hadn't come apart. They are not described as being in pieces anywhere in the description. br>br>WARNING: The Packaging was a WARNING: The Packaging was a WARNING: The Packaging was a WARNING: The Packaging was a Hazard of Choking Children under the age of three should not be exposed to the small parts. The description also makes no mention of this. br>br>Had this been mentioned in the description, I would not have bought it.
Because we have hard wood floors, I bought this product along with a few other interlocking foam squares for my son's room. They perform admirably and have proven to be reasonably long-lasting. He used to cry if he was on the floor before he bought the foam products. He now prefers to play with his toys on the floor. If you're feeling particularly crafty, you could use the pattern to spell out a child's name as a personal touch. It's simple to clean them. I usually use chlorox wipes or baby wipes, and it cleans up fine. When I first opened the package, there was almost no odor or chemical smell, and now that it has been out for a few days, it is completely gone. Because it includes colors, shapes, animals, numbers, and other elements, this product can be as entertaining and educational as you want it to be.
These are fantastic! When our son was first learning to crawl, we used them on our hardwood floor. On the tiles, there are some amusing images. This is a great "backdrop" for some silly cell phone photos. It became a puzzle for our son as he grew older. He had a lot of fun taking it apart and putting it back together. CONS: It's a pain to clean because all the'static' sticks to it. When a baby can crawl up to the edge and try to bite it, it's not good. It was like a magnet, for some reason. We stored it for a while before bringing it out again.
My baby was 7 months old at the time, and he was just sitting up on his own. He needed a cushion for his head when he fell because our floors are tile. These are his absolute favorites. They're bright and cushy, and he enjoys putting the puzzle pieces together and chewing on them. After he's gone to bed, I put everything back together, and the next day he starts over. He's nine months old and can still play for an hour on his own with nothing but the floor.
These tiny tiles are so cute! I went out and bought the numbers, letters, and animal shapes. Some are shaped like cubes, while the majority are used to cushion the ground beneath her. pen. They're incredibly vibrant and lovely. I would recommend these to a friend because they are great chew toys for my little one and provide a safe landing spot for little noggins. These animals/shapes are super cute, and even the smallest pieces aren't choking hazards, so it's a great learning opportunity for my little peanut.
He figured out how to get the pieces out relatively quickly. I'm worried that some of these pieces (such as the animal eyes or the car headlights) are too small to cause choking hazards, and I'm not sure why there are ten squares instead of nine or twelve. Maybe it's just a scrap of material.
