Questions & Answers

Does it matter how thick the tiles are?

There is a full 1/2" difference in thickness between them. As a babysitter, I used one of these mats every day from the time that my grandson was 4 months old to the time that he was 18 months old, and they provided plenty of padding for our hardwood floors. The tiles also served as the base for my glass coffee table (2 layers of the tiles) so he could play with his cars on it. A row of them is now on the hearth of the fireplace where my daughter has him play. It worked great! I bought a second set of tiles and used them both (in a single layer) to pad our cement patio under the kiddie pool we got for him (the pool was big enough for his parents to sit in with him) and they were so easy to set up! Having said that, my only complaint about this set is that the border pieces are missing Would have been nice if the same could have been done for the second one.

Are there any BPAs, Leads, or Phthalates in this product?

It does not contain BPA, lead or phthalates*br>(high or low) according to what the seller claims. I only noticed a strong odor in the first two weeks. During the last two weeks, however, no other issues emerged.

The math classes I teach range from kindergarten to 12th grade Can I use this as a mock carpet (so I can assign each student a letter or number to sit on)?

You have a fantastic idea there We'd be able to put it into practice. If the punched out symbols are difficult to manage, consider that. It's important to note that symbols like P and 8 have tiny cutouts in the center, which may disappear in the future. Due to the fact that your students can pull out symbols and squeeze them back into tile, this might be the basis of a tactile learning activity that helps them identify The symbols could be printed yourself, distributed to students, and then assigned to students For instance, one might ask them to find a tile that matches.

Does it wash?

If you want to wash it, you can. Mix some water and dish soap with some water, then spray the tiles and rinse them Please ensure that the tiles are dry before you start installing them. After it has dried for at least a day, it will be ready to use.

You should do the same
3/5

As my son was just learning how to sit and when he still tripped over a lot, my husband and I bought these for him. The protection of his head was what we wanted. As a cushioned surface, they served their purpose and were safe for him To make matters worse, they can be very hard to Under them, they trap all of the dirt, and vacuuming underneath them becomes an absolute We had a lot of objects down, like we did, so picking them up in one piece to vacuum under them is impossible so we ended up having to put it all back The letters fall out all at once. I find it hard to deal with. Additionally, dirt and animal hair, like static, stick to the underside of the tile, meaning you have to sweep and vacuum over each one. In hindsight, I would have preferred to have tiles without the letter cutouts as it would have been easier to clean.

You can get the Edushape solid squares in Edushape
3/5

There is too much work required to clean them. Buying if you have cats is not recommended! This is very cute, thanks for sharing! It is unclear whether I would have bought these if I knew that the letters and numbers came out of them. There are circles in the middle of the number 8, such as the ones on the right. They keep getting pulled out by my 3 year old. My kids are globbing gross stuff in all the cracks at 10 months of age Despite the fact that many numbers and letters can be seen, there are a lot of cracks. Additionally, I love something about the texture of these - not a negative to the product - but something about the feel that they like. Ten of the squares have already been ripped apart by the cats, and I probably will have to throw them away because the shreds that result from the cats' tearing are so small that my ten month old is very afraid of eating them. You could keep these away from places where cats like to lay (the tiles they shredded were in front of a sunny window)

I recommend their solid squares, since they are easy to clean and have Here is an update on the situation It is not recommended to buy these for new mothers. You could also use them as teethers if they decide that tearing them out is a good game for them every day. I would recommend it for older kids after they have grown out of the Despite this, I still have no idea why my cat is so fascinated by In fact, he literally walks away with the letters he pulled out like a mouse and walked away with it. It's probably pretty unusual for that to happen.

We're reading our letters and learning our The tiles we used fit perfectly in our living space because we only used 30 of them
5/5

As our son learns to sit, crawl, etc, we don't have to worry about him falling over on the hardwood because it's so padded. The color has also brightened up the room and made it seem like a kid-friendly spot. Provides opportunities to teach colors, letters, and numbers 1 through 3 in a fun and safe environment. This led me to believe my son was motivated to crawl more by the groovy edges. He has shown a lot of interest in It worries me that the letters will be loose and that my child will be able to pop them out and put them in his mouth. But this Despite fitting snugly, my husband and I are able to take the letters out, while my eight month old is unable to. In regards to the con, our cats, both of whom have front claws that haven't been declawed, have been able to puncture holes in the mat by running along it with their back claws. It wouldn't be enough to lessen our love for this mat if that small inconvenience existed. As a side note, we also brought six tiles with us while visiting family for Christmas and they offered tons of tummy time options on the go. This is something we will definitely buy.

Tummy time and mommy yoga is made easier with a soft mat
4/5

It was the best mat I could find after reading multiple reviews. Tummy time goes much more smoothly with this. It's thick, sturdy, soft on my knees, and a big help during tummy time. I have creaky old knees so it is an absolute necessity for me on our hardwood floor. Very nice. It feels really solid and can take the downward dog I can do easily. Like others have said, the letters look like puzzle pieces when they are printed. Our company does not have any problems with this. Playtime can be epic when you construct a fort using the letters. They can serve as peepholes from which to shoot at ninjas, pirates, and other denizens of the I am sure the kids will appreciate it. This mat bothers me in a lot of ways. Do you know what it is? With the exception of three letters, each letter has its own color scheme. There are three mistakes on the paper K, L, and 7. As one might expect from my like for order, I've arranged the books on the floor in both alphabetical and numerical Purple should be the color of the K. Rather than being green, the 7 should be yellow. In the L's purple field, the I ought to be orange. There is only one tile that is off, and that is only tile 3, which drives me absolutely batty. Other aspects that I considered worth mentioning were its smell and its durability. The smell of some foam is unpleasant. There is no such thing as that. It's nice and tight in their respective slots since the puzzle pieces and letters/numbers all fit in there. Despite being walked on, the object returns to its original position very quickly. However, it did not cut or tear even when heavy objects, like the swing, are weighed on it. I really like this. This stuff is worth the fort.

It was easy to assemble and did not emit a lot of smell
5/5

Three of these were purchased for my son's playroom in my basement to provide him and any friends with a safe place to play. Our first impression was that they had almost no odor when we got them. They also took just a few minutes to assemble. As for the basement floor, it's vinyl over concrete. It's a hard surface that we chose more for durability than comfort. Looking back, I wish we had made a different choice but that's something we may remedy There are amazingly springy, and I can walk across them with no issue, as well as protect my son from falls if he While the letters in the middle might come out, there is no clear choking hazard unless he bites off the edges. Actually, I was hoping to buy one more set, but the price has increased, possibly due to demand during the holiday season, so I will wait until the price is under $40 again.
