We used it on a short area rug and it worked perfectly, as well as on a dining room table. It's a fantastically challenging puzzle.
The pieces are of a reasonable size. Appropriate for children aged 5 to 6. Because most puzzles are square or rectangular, the circular shape poses a challenge.
The previous comment from November 4, 2016 is correct: this is a lovely puzzle that the grandchildren enjoy. The fact that it is round adds to its allure.
I'm not sure, but it's the perfect size; you'll enjoy it as much as my nephew does. The color combination is fantastic. It's about 3 feet by 2 feet in size. You will not be let down.

This is a fantastically large puzzle - well done! 32" in diameter! The pieces are made of heavy cardboard, are fairly sturdy, and are nicely finished; each one is about the size of an adult's open hand, and the overall learning concept is simple to grasp and use as a conversation starter about how we are all far more alike than we are different. The 'traditional dress' worn by each of the 12 nations represented is bright and colorful, with a good mix of skin tones, if not a wide range. But it's a great place to start. br>br>The pieces are small enough for small hands to manipulate, but the puzzle is not for children who are easily frustrated, lack patience, or walk on toys, so children under the age of four will most likely require adult supervision.
What I like to do:br>- It's a difficult task. Many of the patterns and outfits are similar, and the earth itself is difficult to cut because of its shape.
- Overall, the shape and pieces of the puzzle have a good design. br>- opens up a dialogue about the world and culturesbr>- What I don't like: learning flagsbr>br>What I don't like:
- the lack of representation for a number of non-European countries (How come Ghana is the only African country represented? Etc)
- The county uniforms aren't always the best option. br>- Since it is intended to be educational, the earth itself could look a little more realistic. br>br>Overall, I enjoy it. It's much more difficult to put together for my son than any of his other puzzles (he's almost four years old), which makes me happy, but it also means I won't get much done if I want to occupy him with a puzzle, or if he grabs this when I want him to play alone because he needs my help.
pros: The concept is fantastic, especially for young children who will be able to see "hands all over the world. " This type of puzzle has always appealed to me since I was a child. It inspired me to travel the world in order to meet those kids! The components were well-matched.
cons: It is not a "jumbo" floor puzzle in my opinion. The size is simply enormous.
- Every "child" in this "world" appears to be an adult- If you stretch it, you could say adolescent. As a result, an artist who is skilled at drawing children would create a more engaging puzzle that children could relate to.
- Some of the "traditional attire" appears to be a bit cheesy. For example, I believe the American is supposed to be a pre-existing condition. 1777, in the United States of America (as a white person).
year- olds! It's more difficult than rectangular puzzles, and it'll get you talking. This was bought for my daughter's preschool classroom, and she says it's fantastic! br>br>Puzzles are excellent for teaching fine motor skills and forming the neural connections necessary for later math and problem-solving skills. aptitude for problem-solving This is a more difficult puzzle for small children because it is round rather than rectangular. It's also very unique because of this. br>br>While some of my daughter's 4-year-old preschoolers are ready for this puzzle, others lack the necessary skills and will use it later in the school year. She appreciates that this puzzle depicts a diverse range of people, allowing her to have discussions with her preschoolers about celebrating differences while also looking for similarities. A larger version with more people would be an excellent addition to the puzzle!.
Melissa and Doug have always been my go-to people. when I'm in the mood for a puzzle My autistic son has been putting together 50-piece puzzles on his own since he was one year old. He is constantly working on puzzles, preferring them to toys. This one was a big hit with him! We probably worked on it for about ten minutes! I should have videotaped him because he moves so quickly. I really like how long-lasting the puzzles are. I work in a clinic, and when my son completes a puzzle, he doesn't want to do it again, so I donate it to the school where I teach social skills or to the clinic for the kids to use. Melissa and Dog, you two are incredible.
5yo). The puzzle is large and designed to be assembled on the floor, which the children enjoy, but the pieces are also large and simple to assemble. Both of my kids can do it together, though my 5 year old finds it easier, and they both enjoy it because it can be done on the floor and is circular! This is such a fun puzzle to solve. The puzzle is a great conversation starter for me. We can talk about all of the different countries, clothing, and ethnicities in a way that children can understand. High- The pieces are of good quality and will not fall apart when put together, and the box is also sturdy. This puzzle is fantastic value for money!.
This was a Christmas present for my son. It appeals to him greatly. He was 2. 5 at the time, and each time we've used it, he's gotten more enjoyment out of it. I only gave it four stars because a couple of the pieces were slightly damaged when it arrived, which appeared to be a quality control issue, but it's still a fantastic puzzle. I'd give it as a gift again without hesitation. It's both educational and entertaining, and the components are long-lasting.
Crisp, colorful imagery and a fun theme make this perfect for both the tabletop and the floor. Melissa also gave us a puzzle with an African savanna/safari theme. Last year, Doug gave one of our sons a gift, and we are thoroughly enjoying them. In the future, I hope to receive/give more of these.
