I think it's too babyish for a 21-month-old; I bought it as a one-year-old's gift, and it's fine for her right now, but I'm not sure it'll be as much fun at 21 months!
It would be too loud for a plane trip in my opinion, but it would be fantastic otherwise.
What's the best way to change out the batteries?
It only plays one song at a time; for example, pressing the spoon button causes it to say "the dish ran away with the spoon" before singing "Hey Diddle Diddle." The three little kittens page is the same way - "The kittens have found their mittens," it says when you press the mitten. ", and then begin singing, "Three little kittens have misplaced their mittens." " This was my daughter's first "real" toy, as opposed to security blankets, rattles, and hanging toys, and she absolutely adored it. She has been playing with it since she was a year old. It's an adorable toy.

This is a fantastic toy. It's been 5 years since we got it! I've never had to replace the batteries, and it still looks brand new. br>br>This was a first birthday present for my six-year-old, and my eight-month-old absolutely adores it! This is a fantastic toy in every way. Each page contains a variety of buttons and movable elements. Each of the three animal faces, as well as the music note, is a button. Each page will light up and play a different song if you push them. On each page, there are also movable characters who make noises when they are moved. br>br>When you turn the page, it makes a chiming sound and then plays a song or a nursery rhyme that corresponds to the content of the page. When you press the music note while a page is open, the song that corresponds will start playing. br>br>Low and high volume controls are available. The low setting is nearly perfect, whereas the high setting is a little too loud for my taste. br>br>Overall, this is an amazing toy, and I'm so glad we got it and that it's still going strong! I recommend this toy 100%

VTech Musical Rhymes Book was originally purchased for my baby, who appears to enjoy it. As a result, I decided to purchase another VTech book. This, however, is a huge letdown. Musical Rhymes Book is of higher quality, despite its lower price. It has a much clearer tone to it, and the content is superior. This book has a static sound to it, and animal sounds aren't up to the task. The music begins to play when the pages are turned, but the book's voice does not sing the entire song. I recommend VTech Musical Rhymes Book over this one because it only sings half of it in order for the baby to sing the rest (I'm guessing), which I find very awkward and ineffective.
However, there is one flaw. My 13-month-old son has spent the last three months playing with this book. He enjoys playing with it, which makes me happy. However, just like any other product or toy, this one has strengths and weaknesses. All of this is being described in order to assist potential buyers. When you turn the page, the rhymes from the previous page begin to play. On the right side of each page, there are three animal faces buttons. It produces light and random sounds, such as animal noises, rhymes, and animal sound rhymes. The only thing I don't like about it is that the first two lines of rhymes are played. Whenever a rhyme begins, my son looks to me to sing and complete the rhyme. As a result, he isn't doing this by himself. I'm looking for another musical book to buy because of this one flaw, but I'll keep this one as well.
For my son to play with, I needed something more interactive. He was enthralled by a Costco book about the Wheels on the Bus. The following are some of the advantages:

Maybe when he's older, he'll appreciate it more.
At the age of ten months, my little one began to play with it. She was fascinated by anything that could sing or light up, so this was a great way to begin reading to her and exposing her to sounds and words. I could also teach her the words to the songs by singing them to her. br>br>The fact that this toy has two volume controls is a godsend. She loved flipping through the pages, listening to the songs, and hearing all of the extra sounds made by the pages' levers. This toy has a good amount of durability. It's been thrown around a lot, but it still works great. She always pulls this toy out just when I think she's outgrown it. I purchased it at the end of August and kept it in its original packaging until the day of his birthday celebration. It was in a bedroom that has since been converted into a closet, so it was in a secure location. When they open the gift and try to use it, it does not work, much to my embarrassment. We replaced the batteries to make sure it wasn't that, but the device still doesn't work. And now it says I'm unable to return it because the return period has passed! It's finished!.
What you see is what you get I bought this a long time ago and forgot about it, but better late than never aha and yeah there are a lot of reviews already, but here's another to help anyone who wants to buy this, so for a 1 year old or around that age it is easy to use and kept my kiddo busy, especially the songs my kids loved them the sound can be light at times where you would want it louder and times where you would want it quieter but it's okay still Sorry for having a hard time because I had the book on one of my knees and was trying to balance it and turn the page with one hand while recording with the other. I just had to give myself a hard time hahah anyway I didn't use the sound because the batteries barely died so they lasted a long time!.
