These were purchased in conjunction with a 100-piece wooden track set purchased in bulk. These adapters are very important, and some name brands may include one or two in their packages, but you'll either have to buy another pack of track or pay a lot of money for just a couple. It was an excellent purchase. This is a fantastic addition to the train set. Thomas the Tank Engine has been a long-time favorite of my son. He has amassed a sizable track collection. He does, however, frequently need to join pieces of track that aren't exactly the same. male- whether a man or a woman female. I'll have to wait for my nephew to see if they fit perfectly, but the quality appears to be good and the pieces are consistent based on my initial inspection. It's good that these are available, because most young children lack the necessary tools, coordination, and analytical skills to make their own adapters (yes, tape on the underside would work, but only for flat track, not for raised ramps and other obstacles). When compared to other adapters, this is a good little set for the price (though there are so many different track types that you might need some of them as well).

The longer you go without connecting two male ends or two female ends, the more likely you will be forced to do so - a problem that not even the Supreme Court can solve, at least when it comes to toy train tracks Unless you have access to these "double ended" pieces, the end result is tears and frustration (whether the child is crying while you are frustrated or vice versa is up to you). Buy a couple of these sets to supplement your track supply (and they're so well-designed that you can always use them to simply extend your trackway if you don't need to deal with the mismatched ends). These pieces are made to the same high quality standard as the Obrium trackway (also reviewed), which means they are well formed and well fitted, sanded smooth, and nicely and attractively coated with some clear finish, making them likely to outlast your child's interest in toy train tracks (if not your own interest in toy train tracks - see below). Admit it, you've messed around with this stuff before). Because Obrium's multi-piece track sets do not include any of these specialty connectors, make it a habit to purchase at least one of these sets whenever you buy other track. If you're constructing a superstructure, these are a must. super cool train tracks from four or five different train track manufacturers. br>br>At some point, you'll be close to being done. There's only one more piece to go, and then. . . oh s*$. I'm looking for a guy who can help me with my project. a male or a female- a piece for women This isn't going to work out. The entire system must be reconfigured. br>br>These were purchased after one of these occurrences and have proven to be invaluable ever since.

I was looking for something that was reasonably priced. Connectors at a reasonable price for my 5-year-old grandson's train set, which includes both original Brio and newer generic tracks. These Orbrium connectors fit reasonably well, but not perfectly, resulting in motorized engines becoming stuck on occasion. However, the male and female pieces, as well as the orange plastic adaptors that allow disparate tracks to fit together, are extremely useful. The adaptors are also used as "buffers" (bumpers) at the ends of train lines by my grandson. We are pleased with the outcome overall.

I can't upload a photo because the system won't let me, but there were splinters coming out of the wood connection pieces on a couple of the pieces. Given that these are intended for small children, I would have expected them to be sanded a little better.

This was a fantastic addition to a train set for me. It eliminates the need for our child to have the ideal setup when putting the trains together. We assist him because he is only three years old, but even so, if he tried to put them together himself and didn't have the right pieces, he would become frustrated. These make it much easier for him to match the pieces. They work with non-electric train sets that we bought on Amazon. the name of the company.
