Our main reason for buying it was that the paper did not crinkle. As crinkly and crunchy as it looks, it is actually In general, toys like this are meant to make babies happy with their noises and textures. A tube sock is about as exciting as this toy. It is an inadequate substitute (or addition in our case) for Pony Tails by Jelly Cat - A toy/book like that has a lot of noise and texture that the baby enjoys.
My granddaughter will be so disappointed. I had high hopes for a wonderful toy. It was nicely packaged, who cares how cute it looked as long as it was plastic. This book should have been lovely, but the pages aren't crinkly and the feet don't squeak. The head of the alligator is supposed to squeak, but it is lame and squeaks every now and then The only thing I expected better was better. Earlier this month, I ordered another soft book (by Early Years) that my grand daughter loves a lot at four months old.
I bought the book because of the crinkle the legs are supposed to make as it would help engage my 4 year old. I really like how well constructed it is, but I bought it for the crinkle the legs are supposed to make. I regrettably do not hear the crinkle noise effect on any of the feet or if you try really hard, at the very least there is a hint of it. We were quite disappointed in this purchase since there were other options available which could have worked out better for us.
For me, this was not an issue, but someone looking for an actual crinkle book might have been unhappy with it. You can view the item details in the photos.
This book was a gift I bought for a new baby and I thought it was super cute. Colors are bright and the sentences are animated. It has a soft appearance and is large. As stated in other reviews, the crinkle effect only occurs in the feet, not on the entire pages, and is very subtle, so if that's your primary concern, think twice before you buy it. I wasn't aware that there was a squeaker effects in the head of the alligator until I got it and it was a nice addition. The fact that this can be washed is a great feature.
The feet swinging freely are not only loved by the children, but also by the parents. The cloth book is chewed quite a bit, so I would imagine many of the feet get gnawed. Colors are nice in this book. I liked it so much I ordered a second for the grandchild of a friend.
I should have read the other numerous reviews before buying it. No return policy exists for these feet because they do not make any noise. There is an error in the description of the product. This vendor is someone I will never buy from There is a reason that they have a no reform policy - they are selling useless products. You should beware!.
This is the perfect thing for your kid if he loves books but likes to eat them at the same time. The book is absolutely wonderful to flip through, and my daughter loves to have the feet tickle her nose while she is reading it. There is no need for me to watch to make sure that she doesn't put it in her mouth while I leave her with this book.
