How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

It is more square, sits straight, does not rock or move, but is much more square than the monarch butterfly habitat.
Good airflow is provided by five mesh panels. The black swallowtail butterfly is a beautiful butterfly that can be seen during the fall. With a clear vinyl window panel, students and families can observe caterpillars turn into chrysalides and then emerge as butterflies.
A collapsible and reusable design that unfolds to measure 15 wide by 16 high. Detachable for storage and rereusable. A 7 x 15 matrix, in fractional units. The square root of 7 x 23 is 722. I am 6 inches tall. 2 large milkweed plants can be housed on this tall and wide planter. When trying to stir up a new butterfly, its wings are not at risk of breaking.
Opens on the side for easy feeding of butterflies, then they can be released back into the open air. It's not uncommon for butterflies to land on the hands and faces of children before they fly
There is also a starter manual for raising butterflies in the book.

Questions & Answers

Do you have any ideas on how I can clean meconium from tent walls?

As long as there are caterpillars or other butterflies in the cage, I clean it off as best as I can with a wet paper towel, and then I use a mild bleach solution at the end of the season or when it

Do you recommend keeping the butterflies in the habitat for a certain amount of time?

After their wings have dried and they are ready to fly, they only need to be kept for a few hours. Some of them were kept for 3 days because the weather was too cold for them to fly, but they shouldn't be kept for more than a day or two since they need to eat. My sugar water was released to them only after I fed them. In the unlikely event that you release them soon after they emerge, put them someplace where they can hang There is a possibility that it could take several hours for them to be ready to fly.

How does this 24 inch habitat compare to backyard safari 15 inch habitat? Which one is better for raising monarch butterflies? Would it be better for the door to open on the side?

In "Backyard Safari Butterfly Habitat 15", you will find With its flip top lid and Velcro tab, it opens to reveal a solid black interior. It is easy for the caterpillars to slip through the cage, which defeats its purpose. In my opinion, I would never recommend doing this. There is a butterfly habitat at Restcloud I am 6'' Tall and wide, it is a tall, imposing object. The container is easy to set up. One side has a large opening and the other side is clear plastic, so I was able to place two milkweed plants inside. Children can look at the caterpillars and butterflies without disturbing them, making the side plastic a handy observation tool for all teachers. I would highly recommend this product to any parents or teachers of young children.

Do you have a handle so you can carry this?

As you can see in the picture, it shows handles. The 12" x 12" x 12" cages do not have handles, but the other cages do. I have at least 100 RestCloud According to me, every cage should have at least one handle, even if it is only to hang the cage after it has been cleaned to dry. I have handles on every other cage except for the gigantic 36-inch cage in my RestCloud collection.

It was nice to read Ive been looking for a mesh terrarium to save butterflies, but I've kept coming up empty handed
5/5

My panic was triggered when I discovered seven tiny caterpillars in my garden the night before a hard freeze. As a result, I brought them inside, but wasn't sure what to do with them (and to clarify, these are monarch caterpillars, the kind that migrates, not the ones that overwinter, because the cold temperatures My husband put them in an old fish tank and scoured Amazon for the best deals. A previous review of this terrarium piqued my interest, so I decided to buy it. Upon receiving the package two days later, I was pleasantly surprised. I transferred all the caterpillars to the new home with great delight. There are enough leaves on it that I can put potted milkweed in it instead of having to cut them (as I had It is small enough to fit on our kitchen table without taking up valuable kitchen space, but still large enough to contain 6 potted milkweeds, and tall enough so caterpillars can form their chrysalis above the mesh without disturbing (or being disturbed by) the milkweed The bottom can also be lined with paper towels to trap the frass, making cleaning out the fridge much easier. There are two zippers on the door, so it is easy to open. I am updating the status of the rescued caterpillars. Currently, two are in chrysalises at the top of the mesh, and the others are still eating well and growing. Despite its small size, this tiny tent saved the lives of 7 caterpillars (who turned out to be 6 monarchs and 1 queen). You never know when you might need a second of this terrarium so I have already added a third to my cart. I HIGHLY recommend this book if you're interested in raising caterpillars or butterflies regardless if they were accidentally raised. In addition, I am a bit concerned about the danger of predators even though pests are easy to find and avoid- once the weather begins to warm, this will be so easy to pick up and take outside to acclimate them to the temperature. Even the handle on the terrarium serves as a handle for carrying it!.

I liked it so much that I bought another one
4/5

I found this to be very helpful. In the cage, I successfully pupated 22 butterflies. It is easy for caterpillars and butterflies to crawl on this silk button because it adheres so well to the mesh. It's important for the caterpillars that the flap zips and unzips smoothly due to the fact that it disturbs them. It doesn't take long for them to get back to eating. In order to decrease the degree of movement of a butterfly's wings before they open, I would recommend that the flap not be unzipped immediately after the butterfly emerges from the chrysalis.

As I needed the cage for my caterpillars, I did not return it
5/5

Original cage was not able to sit straight, but since I needed it for my caterpillars, The owner sent a replacement without my asking and as a gift as soon as I wrote a review stating that. I am very impressed with the company and this one is perfect. There will be some items that are not The quality of its products and customer service should be important factors for a company. My order with this company for another smaller cage is in the works. *I have not been able to change my original feedback even though it has been less than a month since I wrote it.

The monarch butterfly habitat is excellent for raising the My Lowe's milkweed plant was munched on by 2 Monarch butterflies
5/5

So you can imagine my excitement when I found this. Studying monarchs led me to believe that I needed to make a habitat for them to keep out the predictors. I brought them inside on one of my visits to the habitat. The chrysalis ecloses or emirages after about a week as a butterfly. I have never seen anything like this before. the birds' wings were dry, I released them outdoors after they had been inside for about 4 hours. Having to say goodbye to them isn't easy, but we found another 2 or 3 instar cat munching on our milkweed. I look forward to raising another cat and caring for it It is released. I am a first-time user of the Restcloud habitat, and it works perfectly for me. There is no way of knowing if 20 cats will work with it. issue is that there is not enough milkweed to supply enough food for The other plant I bought at Lowe's just arrived. This is a hatched ostrich egg I don't know if a Monarch will lan on it or if it has eggs from the nursery It is eggs that lay. As soon as I see cats munching on it, I'll place the habitat & milk bottle in it. We invite you to come inside. The habitat is worth its cost This product has excellent quality and is very durable. The construction industry. Thanks to my purchase of a milkweed plant, I have become a Monarch butterfly expert in my family. you, your children, family, friends and colleagues are eager to embrace the new year It will be fun for neighbors to raise & watch Monarch butterflies will be released.

It is so much easier to use this way
5/5

My vinyl side is facing down, so I placed it that way In that case, so be it. In addition to this, I also purchased an enclosure for the cylinder. It is so much easier to use this way. My vinyl side is facing down, so I placed it that way As a result, the caterpillar frass can be simply wiped away, and when the butterflies emerge, they often fall into a pool of It is easy for caterpillars to pupate on the top panel of mesh Toward the top of the cylinder enclosure I had spun chrysalises -- this is the opening The enclosure is difficult to clean and does not allow the chrysalises to develop.

That I could need this so badly never occurred to me
5/5

In the past, I had been using mesh laundry bags to protect my monarch caterpillars. Recently, a friend pointed out that zipper mesh habitats were now available! When the caterpillars arrived, I already had six of them in my laundry bag. I really like it! It is pretty easy to see the caterpillars on one side since it is clear. The building turned out to be taller than I imagined and wider than I imagined. I can fit six caterpillars more than comfortably. There would be plenty of room for a pot of milkweed in there There are probably two of them.
Under the flap, there is a zipper so tight that there is no gap between the zippers (there is a zipper that meets at If not all of your "cats" have yet "gone J", the zip will be on the side and not on the top in order not to harm them. Despite its lightweight nature, I had to put a rock in the bottom of this to keep it stable while sitting outside next to the milkweed plants (quite common considering it can be folded up during the winter as well). A few pupas are hanging out at the top and there are rocks in the bottom, making it a little difficult to clean. I was able to use the paper towel liner too. When only one or two caterpillars are ripe for pupation, and the other caterpillars are still feeding, you can't really do much. This is my first time buying this and I am so glad I did. It's "safe" for the caterpillars, since there are no predators, and I can watch over The clear side worked just fine. I'd heard the black mesh allows you to see the caterpillars easier, but I was not troubled at all watching them through the black mesh. It's not too late to start raising caterpillars (if you have kids), but you need to get started right now. I think this is a great thing to have, and the price is great!.
