Yes, the surface is lovely and perfectly smooth for painting and coloring books. My grandchildren have no problems coloring in their coloring books. Our smallest grandchild, who is 18 months old, has even colored on the table rather than in the coloring book, and the crayon cleans up easily. I hope you find this information useful.
Hello, Carrie. I realize the photo and description are a little misleading. This isn't a table for children. It has the capacity to accommodate four people. 6 toddlers can be comfortably accommodated. My 20-month-old granddaughter enjoys it.
The junior version is significantly smaller than the one with cup holders. My granddaughter prefers the larger table because she can comfortably seat three of her friends at it. The junior model is insufficiently large.

For a long time, I was undecided about which picnic table to purchase for my one-year-old. Is it better to get the junior or standard size, and should I get the umbrella or not? I went with the standard size (because I didn't want him to outgrow it) and the umbrella, and I'm very pleased with my decision. br>br>Why the umbrella? I debated whether or not to purchase the umbrella, fearing that it would appear to be cheap and ineffective. In the end, I chose it, and I'm glad I did. Our deck has no shade, so this provides just enough shade for the kids to eat. The umbrella is also quite sturdy and has held up well to the elements. br>br>Why the standard size? I have a small child (1 year old, 20 lbs. I was concerned that the standard size would be too large, so I considered purchasing one of the "junior" models instead. In the end, I went with the standard option to avoid having to buy another table in 1-. 2 years. I'm relieved to have gotten this one. Despite the fact that my child is small, he has no trouble using this table. He can easily get in and out of it; I'm glad I didn't go for the smaller one, which he would have outgrown sooner.
This is a hit with my 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son! They enjoy having a table that is their size outside, and I appreciate the fact that it came with an umbrella to provide shade. After we got it, my daughter demanded that we have picnics outside. I was able to put it together fairly quickly on my own, and I like that it can be folded flat for storage. It's not the most convenient thing to fold down, but I'll only be using it to bring it inside for the winter or during hurricanes, so that's fine. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because there is a small well in the center of the table for two drinks, which is great in theory but collects water when it rains, and I have to empty it. It's not a big deal, but if that weren't there, I would have given it a higher rating. Although it is designed for children, I am unable to sit on it with my children without the seat bending (and I am not particularly heavy). br>br>Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase and would purchase it again.
This is a fantastic table. I chose this one because it was larger than the others I considered. 6 two-person cots could easily be accommodated. My two-year-old sits alongside my two-year-old. year old, as well as several of her cousins, ranging in age from two to ten. With a Magic Eraser, you can easily remove crayon marks. The edges are raised to prevent crayons from falling out, and there's a trough area in the center where we can store sippy cups and additional crayons. (In this house, we like to color a lot. ) ) I deducted a star because the umbrella does not extend as far as it does in the photo, making it difficult for an adult to care for the children while standing. I believe this would be a problem with any umbrella, but we usually store our umbrellas for this reason.
It's so cool how it collapses! We've taken it to parties and are planning on taking it camping with us. My two children, ages one and three, are comfortably accommodated, with plenty of room for their friends. It has performed admirably in the sun and heat throughout the summer. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> We still have it, despite the fact that our children are 6 and 7 years old! Since my grandson's birth, I've purchased more Little Tikes toys for him. They were given to my children as they grew up, and none of it has disappointed them. I purchased this Picnic Table for my grandson's upcoming 2nd birthday because he enjoys spending time outside and I know he'll enjoy it. Little Tikes last for years, and this is another piece that can be passed down to other children in the family when my son grows up and no longer needs it. The purchase was a great success.
So far, we've only folded and unfolded it a dozen times, but it's held up well. The plastic snaps holding it in place appear to be brittle, but they haven't broken for us yet. We like how it can easily slide along the side of our garage for storage because of the fold-up design. It protects it from the elements, which I'm sure will extend its life. It easily accommodates six toddlers, and the bench appears to be sturdy enough for a light adult to sit on one side. Overall, this is a fantastic addition to the backyard barbecue!.
I expected it to get easier, but the first few folds were difficult. It has enough room for at least three toddlers (ages one to three). 3. one on each side When it came to climbing the bench, my 5-year-old grandson needed some assistance. I expect the umbrella to provide adequate shade from the sun (for at least two children per side) because it is larger than I anticipated. My grandchildren immediately wanted to use it for indoor snacks after receiving it as a Christmas gift, and they can't wait until spring when it will be moved outside and used all of the time.
