What if I want to use a battery box that uses two AAA ?

Due to the fact that these work off of 12 volts, I don't believe they are battery powered

During series wiring, can these be connected together?

There will be a decrease in voltage and brightness, but not the actual amount. For every two, the voltage across each LED/resistor unit will be halved, for three, it will be a third, It may not appear that there is a reduction in brightness, but there will be less of it. Make sure it is workable by testing it. It worked well as a headlight for an HO engine and I ran a pair of them in parallel. This can be accomplished with a series connection if you are using these for that purpose. Make sure you test the brightness of the lamp before installation and check the polarity. I found the wires quite difficult to work with in the cab confines, although it was my first attempt.

This is the kind of headlight I use on model trains. In addition to being extremely bright, the round part of the bulb is almost the same size as the openings for the headlights, making installation very easy.
