Quite simply, analog track is track that can be powered and controlled by a controller that is not DC. Analog tracks are used on all tracks. The DC/DCC locomotive combination cannot be controlled on any track with an analog controller however, you may be able to use digital controllers with an analog locomotive. There is a lot of track on the market these days that works on both analog and digital power nickel silver rails are generally used in a DC/DCC layout, but they still work on analog power as well.

My layout is much better because of this addition. As much as I like it, I will display another one in the future. Another one would be less expensive, since the power source can accommodate three at a time. Connects with your Kato controller via a snap on power connection requiring both a power unit and a power unit.
A fantastic accessory to add to any Kato setup but keep in mind that you will need a power supply to run it Kato sells a power supply part number It's possible to use any 17v power supply with a low amp rating, though I'm not sure.
I installed three of them at a junction with two cross overs. This product works well, and is easy to install. The unlighted dummies available for sale do not look this good. They do come at a bit of a cost, though.

It is a nice product, but you have to order more parts in order to make it work. Rather than selling everything separately, why not sell them all.
