First and foremost, be aware that this toy includes a card offering a $20 Amazon gift card in exchange for a five-star review. As a result, you should know how much it's worth and what to make of many of the five-star reviews. br>br>This vehicle is inept at everything. Because the controls are not proportional but only on or off, there is no speed control (full blast or nothing) and steering control is extremely difficult. It's like attempting to drive a house fly away from someone who is attempting to swat it. It can only be driven on smooth surfaces because the body is 2 to 3mm off the ground and the wheels have no traction (plastic with a small serrated rubber band down the middle). Anything else will cause it to become stuck and spin. Only a large flat area can be used to "play" with it. It will swim, but only at a slow pace, and it will be unable to progress if there are any waves. Because they could run it on the concrete and into the pool, it would probably only be fun for a very young child to play with by the pool. I bought it to play with my dog on a lake island because he enjoys chasing things, but it would only run on the flat packed wet sand, and because it's nearly uncontrollable, it either went into the water, where it would take too long to paddle back to land, or into the dry lumpy sand, where it would just get stuck and spin.
We had another family over for a pool party, so I figured these would be perfect for the 6-year-old. year- olds. I purchased one to put to the test, and it turned out to be a good decision. The steering, first and foremost, is a pain. In the water, it does not make sharp turns; instead, you must wait for it to begin veering in the general direction. If there are only a few small waves in the water, don't bother. It is unable to cut through the waves and turn because it lacks sufficient power. I'm referring to pool waves rather than lake or ocean waves. Second, while my wife was alone at home, the car jumped off the counter and began spinning in a circle on the floor. Needless to say, she was completely taken aback. Both the controller and the car's power buttons were turned off at the time, and I joked about poltergeists and smirked in disbelief because I've owned higher-end cars. end RC vehicles, and none of them have ever done so. When it did the same thing to me when I wasn't expecting it, my grin faded quickly. It was thrown out in the trash. What you pay for is exactly what you get.
This RC car blew me away with how simple it is to set up and how well it actually works. It's made of plastic and rubber, it's waterproof, it's easy to charge and use, and it's simple to operate! After a few tries, I've managed to teach my 3-year-old nephew how to use it, and we're having a lot of fun with it; it handles high pile carpet, low grass, bumps, drops, and knocks. It's also great for swimming, with a battery life of about 15 minutes on a full charge. Great purchase; I'll be purchasing another to HOPEFULLY test out on a beach vacation in the sand:.
Two of the tires were no longer functional after only a few hours of play. I've never had the opportunity to play in the water before.
The remote control is unusual but easy to learn, and once you get used to it, it's a lot of fun. At least for now, the quality is far superior to that anticipated. I'm not sure how long it'll last, but I'm having a good time with it so far. My children enjoy their toy, for example.
This was a birthday present for my nine-year-old grandson. Everyone in his group wanted to run it through the grass and jump into the pool! His younger brother has asked me to get him one, even though it is his birthday! This made a lot of cool kids happy!.
It is a huge hit with the boys. This was purchased for my sons to enjoy as an RC car that will not break as soon as they take it outside, and it is fast in both water and grass. It is a hit with the boys. The battery lasts for quite some time.
