I've taken mine out on several occasions. It's held in place with double-sided clear tape, which you should be able to peel off slowly and carefully. I went ahead and did it. Use clear tape to secure the new one in place.

The champ is an excellent rc for beginners. It's simple to fly and cheap, but it doesn't like the wind. After attempting to fly in a 15mph wind, a gust slammed it into the ground, ripping the foam one-piece wing in half near the fuselage. I immediately placed an order for a replacement wing, which arrived in just over a week. Cutting off the old wing with a razor/hobby knife and attaching the new one with epoxy or double sided tape are the only options for replacing the wing. The epoxy worked perfectly for me. Just make sure it's the right kind for a plane made of foam. Because it has grooves, the new wing was simple to align with the fuselage. Shaving off all of the old tape and removing the old wing was a pain, but the new one has held up well and looks almost identical to the day I bought the champ. I only wish the original decals had come with it:.
Although there was no fire or smoke, the carnage was obvious right away. The wing of my plane had broken in half. br>br>After sifting through Amazon's vast selection of amazing products, I found the ideal replacement for my bifurcated wing. The wing arrived after a few days of anxious waiting, and a 5-minute surgery (wingectomy with wing implantation) was completed. My plane was almost brought back to life - It was missing the original's decals. Regardless, I was soaring through the skies in a matter of minutes, ready to crash spectacularly.
Obviously, or you wouldn't be on this site looking for a replacement! Having said that, you should be aware that the champion is not a toy for kids. It's a good starter plane for adults who want to learn how to fly. It taught me how to fly, and I've only broken one main wing and one tail so far. But, to be fair, I've crashed the thing so many times that it's a wonder there's anything left! So go ahead and get yourself a backup, just in case. Anderson RC is not the place to get it! I was sent a broken wing, and after three weeks of attempting to return it, I gave up. Receiving obnoxious emails, too! They finally sent me a return slip, on which I am expected to pay for the return shipping! Any other seller, if you ask me! I've purchased items from Hobby Marketplace, Best Service Stores, and Pto Mart (where I was able to easily return an item).
Yes, it's a piece of styrofoam that I can't stand (especially for the high price! ), but if you enjoy flying this plane, a replacement wing or two is well worth it. When flying this plane, you must be extremely cautious, and after breaking your first wing, you will learn from your mistakes. If you're worried about the tips of the wings getting damaged or dented, use tape to reinforce them. The price per wing is lower on the Hobbyzone website, but not when shipping, taxes, and other fees are factored in; however, if you're a Prime member like me, you'll get it in two business days for roughly the same price, which is fantastic. You'll have a lot of fun flying this plane if you're careful. br>br>Unfortunately, I have to give it three stars because it is extremely expensive for a styrofoam piece.
When my son first flew his RC Champ, the wing snapped off. The replacement wing, on the other hand, was readily available and simple to install. br>br>We carefully sliced through the glue bond on the underwing with a long bladed exacto knife to remove the old one and replaced it with Elmer's all-purpose adhesive. glue that has a specific function The plane appears to be flying smoothly at this time. br>br>The entire replacement process took about an hour, including the removal of the old wing.
This is an excellent substitute. It's just that I wish I didn't have to have it. (My kids needed a project during quarantine because the original plane was broken and there was no response. ).
You'll be ready to go as soon as you get it because it comes with double-sided tape. I wish they had the decals that the original wing has, but I wouldn't give them a bad grade just because they don't have decals. br>br>As well as great shipping times. It's the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) wing. It was time for a new wing after several breaks. It arrived in excellent condition, complete with two glue strips for mounting to the fuselage. Because it's an OEM part, it'll fit and paint perfectly. I still have the broken wing, which I'll fix as a back-up when the new wing wears out. LOL!
