Questions & Answers

Is there a four-digit model number on the prop's leading edge? (Ex. 8331)?

Yes, but the number is closer to the hub (on the prop's chord) and extremely small.

The propellers on the DJI Mavic Pro are made out of what material?

Plastic that is malleable. They can withstand some abuse, but when they come into contact with some good tree branches, they will crack and disintegrate. So far, I have purchased four sets.

Is this something that would work with a DJI Spark?

No, the DJI Spark isn't compatible with this.

Is this a set of dji original blades?

That is correct. They were packaged in a DJI box with pamphlets from the manufacturer.

Selected User Reviews For DJI Mavic Pro Platinum 8331 Low-Noise Quick-Release Propellers - Gold Tips - 2 Pairs

Although a little pricey, this is an excellent option for frequent flyers
5/5

I'm not going to write an in-depth analysis of the situation. I'm not going to go into great detail about these blades because I think a lot of other people have already done that. br>br>I'll admit that with these blades, I noticed a significant'reduction in noise. ' Because I don't intend for'reduction in noise' to describe a metric that must be measured on an empirical scale, I put quotation marks around it. It's a lot more subjective, and putting a finger on it is difficult. br>br>It doesn't appear to be a reduction in operating volume, as it appears to be about the same volume as before. Though I'm sure these blades have a slight dB reduction, it's not the most significant difference. br>br>Instead, it's a general decrease in that whine that we all adore in drones. It now sounds LESS like a swarm of angry bees while also hitting a lower tonal range, which is a very subjective thing to pinpoint. br>br>It appears to me that these blades were designed to dampen the higher tonal ranges of that familiar drone whine. br>br>This effect is barely audible at 50 feet or less, but is very audible at 200 feet or more. br>br>I believe this is why there are so many mixed reviews on these blades. Either you value the subjective noise reduction or you don't. br>br>Because I live in a densely populated area with a few picky neighbors, I try to stay as close to the FAA ceiling as possible, which is around 350 feet. 395 ft. br>br>With these, I can't hear the drone unless it's directly above me, whereas before, I could hear that high-pitched whine from a long way away, even at 400 feet altitude. These blades make sense in my situation because I'm sure my paranoid neighbors have no idea my drone is up there photographing the mountains. br>br>I'll also mention that I notice a slight increase in battery life, perhaps a few minutes, but nothing significant. Even so, if you plan your shoot properly, you may be able to get a few extra shots. br>br>The blades are a little pricey for what they are, but they are official DJI hardware, so you can rest assured that your drone will not fail catastrophically due to poor manufacturing standards or inferior materials. br>br>The only reason this product isn't a perfect five stars is because of the price; I'm not sure what kind of magic is used to make these, but I'm guessing that four plastic, swiveling drone blades with two metal pins each, a splash of paint, and some surface and edge finishing work would cost a few dollars to make in larger quantities. br>br>The price point appears to be high to me, to the point where I believe DJII is exploiting my brand loyalty. That irritates me a little. Apart from that, it's a high-quality product from a reputable company. br>br> If you want to reduce your overall noise footprint on your surroundings, these are something I would recommend.

It nearly works perfectly
4/5

These props were purchased as a replacement for the ones that came with my Mavic Pro. They are quieter than the originals, and their flight times appear to be comparable. After reading previous reviews about how fragile they were, I purchased an extra set. However, I have flown the drone straight into telcom lines, as well as into a pine tree branch, which flipped the drone upside down, causing the props to continue spinning and become entangled in grass and dirt, resulting in nothing more than a slight smudge on the gold painted tip of one blade. I was able to wipe it away and fly again as if nothing had happened. As a result, the ones I purchased are extremely long-lasting. I don't think a dry leaf would be able to break them. Perhaps there was a problem with the batch or something in the previous reviews. With these, the drone spins at around 500 rpm. I had never given it a second thought. I'm lowering the rating to four stars because the drone seems to drift slowly when hovering, even when there's no wind. With the original blades, I couldn't do that.

OEM props from DJI
5/5

These are GENUINE DJI Platinum Low-Cost Flight Controllers. Props for making noise. I was worried after reading some of the reviews, but these are in OEM packaging and are identical to my originals.

If you use these props, you'll get a "Gimbal Vibration Warning
3/5

" If you use these props, you'll get a "Gimbal Vibration Warning. " These don't seem to reduce noise much, but they do introduce some kind of vibration to the gimbal, which my Mavic Pro doesn't like.

Thank you for the compliments! DJI OEM
5/5

They're quieter in my opinion! I took a chance on these after reading older reviews that were mixed about the authenticity of the props, as well as the recent 5-star reviews, and I'm glad I did. I just returned from the first flight of these new props, which went off without a hitch. br>br>The Mavic Pro felt much more stable while flying. I'm not sure if these new propellers do this because their shape differs from standard propellers - or because the props I had on them before this purchase had already been through a lot of flights. br>br>I've read that there is little to no noise reduction in some reviews. I believe these are quieter than the standard props that came with my Mavic, and I could tell the difference right away when I took off. And at a height of 150 feet above my head. I could clearly hear them at 175 feet, the standard props. I can hear these noise-reducing props, but not as much as before. br>br>On the other hand, the flight time remained unchanged. br>br>I'm very pleased with them; I have no regrets about buying them!.

MP1 is getting a lot of attention
4/5

At most, a lower tone, but at 300 feet, I can hear my MP1 perfectly fine. Increase in battery life? Nope, there are plenty of videos on YouTube with watches on. Perhaps a little more time on the Platinums with different ESC would be beneficial. br>br>As with my first set, the fit and finish may cause a little more frame buzzing. Because the tips are so delicate, I'm on my second set, which has even worse frame buzzing at hover (no gimbal errors, just pre-flight issues). Checks on the flight. The white Master Air Screw set is now in use. Same lower tone, but frame buzzing is improved but not perfect, and the tips are thicker and therefore less fragile.

They work on the Mavic Platinum and are the original equipment manufacturer
5/5

This drone is fantastic. The Mavic drone is neither bulletproof nor impervious to damage. Those propellers will take dings if you make a hard landing or hit a tree. br>br>After losing power due to a faulty battery, I fell 20 feet. There was one broken landing leg and four props that were damaged. br>br>What's more amazing is that even though each propeller had missing ends or central pieces, the gyro system and motor control were able to compensate and allow the plane to take off after the battery was replaced. br>br>Four new props later, and we're ready to go.

As described, these are genuine DJI props
4/5

Like many others, I purchased these with a single goal in mind: to reduce the drone's noise. My current set was fine, but I wanted to see if the noise reduction ones were any better. I tested with two different decibel meters at various distances while hovering and both showed no reduction in noise; perhaps it's only noticeable as it flies, but that's difficult to test without a controlled environment. The tone has changed slightly, and it now sounds less like bees. The props are still functional, and we'll be able to use them as a backup set.
