How do you know if it fits the ?

The gear pitch will change, but keep in mind that it is mod 0 in this case. Get a gear that is also 0 for the pinion gear, so 8 should be used. A set of 48p gears comes standard on the 8 the rustler

What size should I order Is it possible to use a 40t pinnion gear with a 16 slash?

There is no point in purchasing this if they aren't designed for A 1/10 Slash is what this is for.

It is a high-quality, OEM replacement part that will last for as long as you watch your mesh and keep your vehicle There are times when you need to remove the teeth because of unforeseen circumstances. I gave a 4/5 because I ordered a 40 tooth and got a 38 tooth instead. My only purpose was to bash, so it didn't matter too much to me.

A decent little spur gear fits as it should. I had to go down an engine crate to get the proper gear mesh, I got a 15T clutch bell and 40T spur gear, and a center diff with forward only conversion. If you get one for you kit or parts box, it can never hurt to have one! As I stated, nice gear will fit all slayers.
