It is an OEM part for the Traxxas 2 wheeled Stampede/Monster trucks. You likely will need it since new Traxxas RC kits leave the factory with motor screws that are barely tightened. With minor damage I've come loose after hitting the motor. The spurs on the gear are grinding down. Now that you've learned the lesson the hard way, you'll want to use Vibra-Tite for the motor screws when you install the new gear using the correct notebook (thin) paper method to set the mesh (see the Traxxas YouTube video). In the event that the proper gear mesh is maintained, these spur gears will last for a long time.
